Grex AC1810-A 1/8 HP 115V Portable Piston Air Compressor

Since my return to miniature painting, I have been looking for an airbrush compressor that I could use at my desk and not have to go out in the garage where my existing compressor lives because it is a loud compressor. Since the home office space doubles as a hobby space and is shared with my wife I wanted something quiet. I looked at several and in the end, I settle on this compressor and it did not disappoint. It is very small so it does not take up a lot of space and can be easily stored if not being used. Most important to me is that is very quiet. You can still have music playing and carry a conversation even when spraying. If you are i nthe market for a solid compressor that has a small foot print and is quiet for indoor use look no further you will not be disapointed.

Man this thing is absolutely perfect. I use it for airbrushing with an Iwata NEO TRN1 and it is beautiful. It may not have a tank but it does none of the throttling that other single piston no tank compressors are known to do. A little pricey but so far its totally worth it for me. SUPER quite as well, the wife can still watch TV with this going full blast with no issues at all. I can even airbrush while she is sleeping its so quiet. Highly recommended.

My husband had an older compressor that he used for painting models and it was so inadequate I think he gave up on it and just assumed he'd never have a quality air compressor. This one came on sale at Christmastime and I was thrilled! Not only was I going to find the "perfect" gift, he would receive what he felt was the "perfect" gift. It's amazing and he said it solved all of the issues he's had before with these things. For the price, this was perfect for him and for our budget.

I bought this a while ago but got to use it for the first time last night. Pressure was good and the on demand feature was nice, but as it got warm some moisture got past the trap onto the model I was painting. So the moisture trap is not 100%. Other wise it works as advertised. Also no one in the house heard the compressor so it is quiet.

I love the auto on/off feature. Great built in handle and moisture trap.

Like the size and how it operates. It runs quite and only run when you are spraying. This model has been around for sometime and hasn’t needed any upgrade. If you use an airbrush a good bit, this small compressor will work great. Best if you can find it on sale as the price is on the upper end.

The pump lacks a reservoir tank and therefore pulses badly. The valve below the gauge is flimsy plastic and can break off quite easily. If you want to buy this pump keep an eye on that valve and get a small tank to hold air.

I had to return it because I had put a .7 nozzle on my airbrush and there was almost no air pressure. Would work perfect with .3 nozzle, but I need more flow. If it had a tank it might have worked better. Stellar product, but only with small nozzles.
