Questions and Answers...And Still More Questions
Up front: I already have a predisposition to the idea that death is not the end of who we are, and believe that when we die, we eventually reincarnate into another life. Not because we have to but because we want to. When we live in a physical life form, we charge the energies that are our spirits. We experience things in the physical that we cannot experience in the spirit. I look upon life, not as a place we have to come to because we have lessons to learn because of past mistakes but because life is a playground where we come to have fun. One reason I reject the lessons scenario in reincarnation is because most people don't remember whatever mistakes we made in a previous life. Fact is, most mistakes probably were too insignificant and minor to warrant another life to get it right. How can one make up for a mistake if they can't remember what it was?As for the book, I was surprised upon reading this book to discover author Bob Olson covered some of the beliefs I've come to believe over the years, such as living multiple lives all at once.. Or parallel lives. There were more things I agreed with than disagreed with in this book. I don't necessarily agree with the idea that we are a being of light with no actual form or that when we died, the beings who we are are retired to the spirit while our soul creates another life to experience. I also don't agree with the idea there was no God around. Don't read me wrong. I'm a deist who believes in reincarnation, not a Christian or member of any other religion. I don't agree with what a lot people do in the name of their religion. If what they believe is right, how would they justify the hatred and contempt they felt for those who didn't have the same political beliefs or life styles or different color of skin to the God they claim to believe in? I believe God is more than we can imagine or dare to dream.Bob's book is a good Q&A session of what he has found while studying the after death issue. It offers the answers of what he thinks the afterlife is like, up to his understanding of it at this moment in time. Like many things, as he learns more and more, what he knows now will change. He doesn't beat you over the head with unexplainable hokum nor does he demand that you must believe what he says. Whatever the truth of our lives will be after we die is something none of us will know until that day happens. And the fact is, we are all curious, we want to know. This book may answer some of your questions as it did some of mine, but I still got more questions. Just as I believe God is more than we imagine, so are we. Buy this book!

This is good, but there is more...
I'm only part way through the book, but am impressed with what I have seen so far. I have read extensively about NDE's, psychic phenomena, mystical trances, drug experiences and faith healing. All that, and a few inexplicable experiences of my own, have given me a pretty consistent picture of the existence and nature of the afterlife, and additional realities. That picture is consistent with the claims made in this book. But I feel there is something missing, that needs more attention. The afterlife depicted in this book comes across as fairly explicable, rational, and understandable from our everyday experiences. Not unlike viewpoints proffered by some mainstream religions. But if there is anything that I have learned from depictions offered by people who have experienced NDE's, it is the sheer ineffability and difficulty of putting it into words. Their experiences seem so divorced and different from everyday experience that we do not have a common language for them. Though some claim NDE's to be even more real than reality, they remain beyond the ability of language to communicate. There also appears to be little recognition of the many, multiple levels of reality reported by some, and of the possibility that evil also lives beyond this plane of existence. Though confrontations with evil are rare in NDE's, they certainly figure in many shamanistic experiences, and are part of everyday experience for priests who perform exorcisms. While many who claim to be possessed are experiencing mental disorder, there are also those cases where the knowledge expressed by the possessed, about past behavior and secrets about others around them, is deeply personal and inexplicable. The purported demons seem to be drawing on secret knowledge. I have no idea how this can be rationalized with a just and perfect God who rules the afterlife. Afterlives may be more complicated, and I would love to see that addressed by people who do this kind of research.I do think that people such as Bob Olsen who dare to venture into serious research about paranormal events are brave, risking careers and reputation among more "serious" scientists who ridicule such efforts. I applaud them and encourage them. But I would like to see further efforts to integrate the NDE and medium experiences with information gathered from other areas of paranormal experience. I'm fascinated, for example, by the possibility of demonic entities, and would like to see them interviewed. When did they first realize that they were a demon? How does it feel, and do you enjoy being a demon? Do you see a future for yourself as a demon? So I give this 4 stars for what it does say, but withhold 1 for what it appears to overlook.

A thought-provoking book, answering many questions about the afterlife and what the future may hold for us all. I recommend it.
Full to the brim with many questions answered that a lot of curious people have had for many years; pondering about life, the afterlife, the past and the future too, the author explains a lot in great detail but he has made it very understandable and without complicated jargon. The layout of the content looks very organised and each area you can tell that he's meticulously researched, so he knows his stuff very well. I found this book very interesting and thought-provoking and although I am already familiar with many of the topics covered, ones that I've researched over the years and from my own personal experiences as a medium and psychic too, he skillfully describes and explains other things that I wasn't aware of and he does it in a positive, convincing and pleasing manner. I learned a lot of new things which I'm delighted about. Ultimately, we'll all know what's what when we get to the 'other side', but I know that it's a wonderful place and we will definitely see our loved ones again. I've seen my parents, pets, guides, angels and lots more, and sceptics will be pleasantly surprised one day. I used to be one.A very good book, well written, and I recommend 'Answers About the Afterlife' to anyone searching for knowledge about some of the biggest mysteries in the universe. A page turner, I read it within a week and kept picking it up to find out more. Very few books have that effect on me, so this is one very interesting treasure indeed.

Not what I was expecting.
I will keep this book rather than returning it for a refund, simply because at least a few of the author's views are interesting. I do however find the author's (purported) premise a little misleading. He comes at his subject citing his experience as an investigator, presumably to establish credibility whereupon he proceeds unapologetically with a text that realistically is anything but considered, balanced or even objective... but is rather a list of his opinions/beliefs based supposedly on insights/experience/evidence to which he habitually and conspicuously fails even to refer, let alone to explain. To use a comparison, J. Warner Wallace's 'Cold-Case Christianity' approaches its equally esoteric subject from the same perspective, this time that of a former homicide detective. The difference here is that whatever conclusions you draw from the text:-a) You are first presented with a very intelligently balanced view of the evidence andb) You are free to infer what you will and to conclude what you wish.If it's comfort you seek, this book may provide it for some. If on the other hand you seek knowledge and truth or perhaps even the means to acquire those things, then I doubt very much that the cover price will reward you.

A very good book for those who already believe....
This is an excellent book but I do think it may be more for people who already believe. There is less science than other books on this subject but I still think it's a good condensing of much of the material out there. There is some inconsistency with some of the other works out there on things like whether we have a physical body after death and certain aspects of reincarnation but I don't doubt the sincerity of the author especially after viewing some of his stuff on Youtube. The author is very big on concepts of the soul and isn't afraid of spirituality, indeed eschewing the less fantastical notions of labelling a soul as consciousness or mind.It was actually the first book on this subject I bought following my mother's passing so it must have ignited further curiosity at the very least, it certainly offered me comfort at least and pointed me in the direction of the more 'evidential' books that I have been reviewing of late if you wish to have a look at.

culumbo of the afterlife researchers
This is a breath of fresh air from mr olson,a private investigator who began with a skeptics view which is good as it meant he went into it looking for truth and exploring all avenues of folks experiences etc in the way only a detective would and just like gary shwartz he ended up finding out that there is definintely something going on at the point of death that transends modern science as we now know it,im sure in time we will find out more regarding nde,s and where we go when we physically die. this book covers every aspect from what it feels like to die,our purpose here, why we put ourselves thru some very awful experiences in life to learn includin accidents and lots more. i cannot praise this book enough as it is a very easy read and done in such a way that you can get lots from it without the headache.hats off to you bob.

I learnt things I did not know before
I have read many, many books to research into the afterlife. Having watched several of Bob Olson's YouTube videos discussing many varied aspects of "life after death" I was curious to read his "summary". At the beginning of the book I thought this is stuff I know.so glad I carried on reading to the end. I found valuable information about having readings with mediums , clarifying the difference (and similarities ) with spirit and soul, clarification about potential and set aspects of the soul contract. Easy to read.I read it in 2 sessions and was sorry when it finished!
