I expected far less than I got. This is a quality trap that has been effective in catching smaller fish, blue crab and smaller conch. I am sure it will work well in fresh water as well for crawfish and smaller fish. When I say smaller, I don't mean minnows. I caught a ten inch fish this week. The trap is an effective and efficient size when open and it collapses into a flat disc about 12 inches in diameter so it is super easy to transport without taking up much room. I highly recommend this trap. Very good value for the dollar.

I used this trap to catch blue crabs for the first time yesterday. I set the trap overnight using a chicken leg as bait. The trap worked as intended. What I did notice, however, was that a crab did cut through a portion of the netting. This trap is not as curable as a heavy-gauge metal trap. But that is reflected in the purchase price. The trap works and is easy to use. But after the first day, I need to make repairs before I use it again.

Very satisfied for this order. Went and do crabbing in san francisco pier. Thrown for 10-15 mins caught big crabs and decent size for crabs. Happy with my purchase.

Since we don’t use it for its purpose, I can only give you a smaller review. Came well packaged, not bent, and in a plastic bag too, to protect it. It opens and closes well and does not seem cheap, but would be good for its intended purpose. Without actually using it I think it is a quality item. It definitely looks good on our “boat shed” in the back yard. And for that it was a great value compared to trite and junky decorating items we could have purchased.

This product is suitable for crabs only due to the designs of the entrance which is not easy for crawfish and shrimp to enter. Crabs have the power to enter, but not crawfish and shrimp.The bait bags come with the traps are not easy to use because of its net structure to only hold big pieces of baits. Also. the bait bags are a little small.There are two thin ropes included which are too thin to be really handy. If you caught some crabs, thicker ropes would be better to haul the traps in without hurting your hands.Overall, the design is okay and would help you catch some crabs if you use the right bait.

I used it a couple of times this year. I tried different lure, different location. No crab at all. I bought it long time ago, so not able return it. Bad purchase.

I had fairly low expectations of this trap to be honest but since it was inexpensive I decided to give it a try. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it performs and how well it is constructed. It's not nearly as cheap and flimsy as I expected it to be; it's actually quite well made. The fact that it collapses on itself for storage and transport is a nice touch. You can fit it in a backpack, kayak storage compartment, wherever. And it does indeed catch things. I've caught fish and crabs with it so far. Overall pleased and may just buy another one.
