The "Gaiwan," comprised of a tea bowl, a saucer and a cover, has been the preferred vessel to brew and serve tea in China since the Ming Dynasty. The gaiwan can be used to brew tea prior to transfer to smaller gungfu-style containers for consumption or the tea may be sipped directly from the bowl. This is a beautifully designed and hand-crafted vessel that may be used to brew and to serve tea. Tea connoisseurs often brew the tea right in the gaiwan although it may also be used conventionally as a tea cup, the lid serving the function of keeping the tea warm. height:2.95 in Width:3.35 in 150ml
