It's Not A Canon Lens Cap - But It Provides Adequate Protection At An Excellent Price!
If you want a genuine Canon Lens Cap - pay more than double the price and order a genuine OEM Canon Lens Cap. If you're like me and misplace or lose these caps fairly often, then a good quality, inexpensive lens cap that provides adequate lens protection like this generic cap fits the bill! This cap is of good quality black plastic that has two spring loaded finger grips. It DOES NOT HAVE A HOLE in it. A short elastic strap with adhesive "button" is provided as a cap "keeper" to allow you to remove the cap from the lens and let it dangle while you take the photo then place it back on the lens. With use, time, and exposure to dust and heat the adhesive on the lens keeper adheres less effectively and eventually fails. I don't even bother to use the keeper on my cap, opting instead to place the cap in my pocket when shooting. The cap springs will also eventually weaken, making it harder to keep the cap on the lens. This is true even with the OEM cap, although it might last longer before it needs to be replaced. The generic cap firmly griped both the 67mm camera lens with and without an attached lens filter, and the "Canon" logo is just an added bonus (It also helps keep track of lens caps from different brand cameras)! Overall, this generic brand lens cap offers more than adequate lens protection for an excellent value!

I Really LIKE These Lens Caps
I fully realize that any "generic" or "third party" camera accessories can be a gamble. Sometimes they are very poor quality, sometimes they are just OK quality and sometimes they are GREAT quality. In my opinion, these are GREAT quality. These lens caps are NOT the Canon brand even though they show the Canon logo. These lens caps are presented as "generic" but I strongly think they are the "Fotasy" brand caps. I do have some "Fotasy" brand lens caps in the 77mm size and they are perfectly identical to these. I really like those too. I can find no indication of where these are made. I suspect they are made in China but wherever they are made, I am extremely pleased with these two 58mm lens caps. I do a lot of outdoor picture taking and am a big fan of using lens hoods for sun shade. I also frequently use polarizing filters. These "squeeze tab" lens caps are so easy to take off and put on even with a lens hood in place. They also grip very well even with the polarizing filters on my lenses. I obviously cannot guarantee the quality of ALL of these lens caps but the two I got are excellent in my opinion. I would buy them again and probably will as often as I lose them. I highly recommend these. I hope if you get them, they work as well for you as they do for me.

Really nice sturdy lens cap with string.
Really nice lens cap. You can’t beat it for the price. Gets the job done and some. A tad bulkier than the original Canon one but, honestly, I don’t care. Because it feels and looks sturdier too. It almost Like it should have been the original. Lmao 🤣

Not accurate on what it fits
I entered a lens cover for my Cannon camera. The site recommended this one, but it was too big. It was an easy return.

It fits
This lens cap fits just fine. It looks just fine. I have one from breakthrough photography in the same size. This one has approximately 30% less spring tension and one side sticks a bit harder than the other. But it is cheap and it works so for the money, I'll gladly use it.

Great cap for a great price if you're not in a hurry.
In a hurry? Look elsewhere, but if you don't mind waiting for the slow boat from China this is a heck of a deal. I ordered mine on Feb. 7, and got it on Mar. 4. Mine came with string attached to tie to your lens so you don't lose it. The string was easily removed, which I did because I don't like the lens cap hanging from the lens when not covering it. I just got it today, but it looks good and clips into place well and holds well so I'm very happy with it. I did not mark it down for being so slow because if I had read the description I would have seen that it would be a while even though it did come a day or two past the estimated end date. OBTW, I ordered two because I've learned that if I have an extra one I rarely lose one, and if I do, then I have an extra to use while I order another.

Works mostly fine, but is clearly not an original -- so why does it have the actual "Canon" logo?
It says "Generic" in the description so I sort of assumed that it wasn't a genuine Canon part... the action is kinda weird and certainly louder than the original caps. It's harder to squeeze than the original Canon caps, too, but arguably that makes it stay on better? I haven't noticed a difference in that regard. But the grip-grooves aren't as sharp or deep, so I'm guessing with a true test, these caps may not fare as well.) My other gripe is that it says "Canon" across the front in a raised font, identical to the Canon logo—but it looks totally different than all my other Canon caps and appears to have been slapped on after-the-fact. I would rather it just be blank. If you are afraid of someone calling you out on buying counterfeit stuff, put some black tape over this logo, lest you next be accused of having counterfeit lenses/bodies, too. I'm forwarding to Canon for review because, well... trademarks are a big deal to me—I'm an IP lawyer. (In the included pic, the authentic Canon cap is on the left and this product is on the right.)If this all seems super petty, tell me so.

Lens Cap not as photograph
THIS IS NOT A CANON LENS CAPPicture in lead photo clearly shows Canon quality product. Product received was inferior. Cheaply made, Security string flimsy. Creaky clips to secure to lens. Not returnable.

Keeps falling off!
Good in appearance however my 9 year old lad seemed to always be picking it up off the floor. After telling him to be more careful a dozen times I took his camera off him, because I thought perhaps he was being a wally. After I picked the cap off the floor about 4 times, I handed his EOS 30d with kit 18-55 back to him minus the lens cap....Don't bother.I found it in the footwell of the car and picked it up with some rubbish and threw it away.

Wrong size
I’m been looking for a replacement lens cap for my Canon Powershot SX60HS Bridge camera without success. At Birdfair a Canon rep advised a 58mm lens cap. Ordered and delivered efficiently but hopelessly too large. And no return available! Not happy 😣

Lens cap replacement
Useful replacement lens cap for the previous one that I mislaid. Does the trick in keeping dust and other things off the lens.
