TRULY UNIQUElY PRICELESS
This is an amazing product it's everything that you would expect and more. It does everything every part of your body that you need to do with pure precision and accuracy as it really takes hair off from the root I would recommend it to anyone. For me it's a life changer since I'm on the road a lot and I travel for work and for pleasure I take it anywhere it's easy and the one thing that I have realized that after using it I take out the blade and I clean it and I clean the shaver itself I pad it dry and I allow both pieces to dry on the side and then reuse the same blade and it is like it's brand new again I can't stop telling you how good this product is if I could afford to have a hundred of them and give them away to all my friends I would this is an amazing product durable strong yet I'm very well put together and a shiny coat. Like I said if I can get a hundred of them for friends and family in donations for a woman shelter I would I love them

Never going back!
To add perspective, I am old enough to remember the Gillette pirate asking "How are you fixed for blades?", plus I actually used one of these way back in the Jurassic period before disposable razors were born. So I've been using disposables for a long time now, but they always required going over areas again and again to get a smooth shave, so I decided to try the old double blade style to see how it did.It does take a different grip, it's heavier and shaped much different than the disposables, and it doesn't have a swiveling head like some disposables have, so you have to pay attention to the angle you hold it, but once you get used to it it does a better shave than the disposables ever can.Since, as I stated, I had used one way back when I quickly got used to it, no arteries severed, no serious blood loss, and the shave didn't take as long to finish, those double edge blades are much sharper and cuts cleaner, so it doesn't require going over and over the same areas.Add in the money saved buying something I'm going to throw away after a couple of uses, buying blades is much cheaper. This razor is well made, has a solid feel, and the handle gives a good grip. I can see owning it for a long time, it's built to last.Like I said, I ain't going back!UPDATE:OK, it's official - Nope, ain't gonna go back.I'll admit my first use was more of a self sacrifice than a close shave, it's been a number of years (Do NOT ask!) since I've used one of these, and you do have to be careful - these blades are MUCH sharper than the disposables, so your stroke and placement must be controlled. My nicks were mostly caused by moving my hand in the wrong way, a way I got away with with the disposables, but not with these edges!I've been using it now for over a month, and I no longer nick myself, and the shave is both smoother and faster, I don't have to go over the same areas several times to get all the beard, it is mostly all gone on the first stroke, so it's less irritating to my face since I don't have to do it over and over.I just ordered some Feather blades, they are supposed to be the cream of the crop for blades, I' looking forward to an even smoother/easier shave once they get here.I'll letcha know...

Premium and good quality, however couple of things which can be better
This is a premium product and from the quality, looks and feel of it you can surely say so. My only bit is around the weight and other part of ease of putting the razor. For me, its a trade off due to its premium quality but with the improvement around these two mention features this is invincible.

Okay Razor, But...
I purchased this razor a year ago. I wanted to allow a fair amount of time for my learning curve, trial of other blades, etc. before giving my review. This is my first DE safety razor. At the time of purchase, this item was less than $15 tax and all. In hindsight, I wish I had spent more time researching and had invested in a highly rated razor like a Mühle or Edwin Jagger (family owned companies) or a Merkur (not family owned, so not a top choice for that reason). This one offers a decent shave, but even after 3 passes I often have significant stubble that I have to keep trying to go over to get even with the rest of my face, which really means 5 or more passes for those areas. I tried shimming the razor since this is a widely recommended practice for increasing the aggressiveness of the razor, and that helped significantly with the closeness of the shave, but there were other problems. Razors are designed to be used as they are, which is reasonable. When you go fiddling about with how they operate, you're deviating from what they are designed to do. Making shims from retired razor blades is an imprecise art, which on this razor results in a blade gap that is uneven, producing uneven amounts of drag across the face and uneven shaving results. [Edit: I just noticed that even without the shims, when you sight down the edge of the blade, there is slight rippling, more pronounced in some places, which means if you're trying to get a closer shave, you'll end up scooping out pieces of skin. This is poor QC or craftsmanship.]From one beginner to another, start with a more aggressive razor, an adjustable razor, or one mild and one aggressive, but don't expect this razor to be the last razor you buy. In my opinion, it is very mild and doesn't get a very close shave. All that said, there is nothing wrong with the razor for its price point, but it is not a great shave, hence the 3 stars. The materials seem good, the mechanics seem good, but the shave result, even with a swath of different blades and techniques, is just not there. My analysis of their "About this item":"Durability - Our Stainless Steel Safety Razors are made with the highest quality materials, making them strong, safe and lasting." My response: seems true so far; no qualms with the materials and general construction."Precise Shave - The Double Edge Razor Blades provide a smooth and close shave, leaving the skin without any irritation." My response: the blades themselves, to which this statement refers, are probably the best part of the package; compared to others that are highly rated, they perform quite well. They remain untested on another razor, though, so I can't verify the extent of the claim, but I would buy the blades themselves again."Long Handle - The long handle produces a better grip and easier maneuvering for the perfect shave." My response: this is debatable; there is a reason why long handles are uncommon; I have found that the long handle results in a bit of imbalance in the razor, making it harder to maneuver, and I don't get a "perfect shave," though I attribute this partly also to still learning my technique."Safe - It doesn't matter if this your first razor or you are a professional, our Double Edge Safety Razors provide a safe, soothing shave." My response: it's a safety razor, so it's safer than a straight edge razor, but it's still a razor; the shave is definitely not soothing since I have to take multiple passes, often resulting in razor burn. [Edit: the unevenness of the blade when seated in the razor, prevents a precise and soothing shave.]"The Viking Promise: We are so confident that you are going to love this Safety Razor, that if for any reason you are not completely satisfied, simply contact us and we'll take care of it" My response: I haven't pursued this, so I don't know how true this holds; it's not that I'm dissatisfied, per se, I just had different expectations based on my interpretation of the marketing claims. I have no idea if this one review will get any traction since there are so many, but I consider this purchase a learning experience, not a waste.[Update 2022/08/31: I just purchased a 1959 Gillette Tech Razor and used it for the first time today. HUGE difference! The Tech is the only other DE razor I have used besides this one, and it was smooth and efficient. The short handle made it much more maneuverable, and the heavy weight helped it do the work without having to apply pressure. It was so comfortable to hold, it was like an extension of my hand. I got a couple of nicks because I was enjoying myself so much and got carried away. However, with only two passes, I got a very smooth, very close, very irritation-free shave. Invest in a high-quality, time-tested razor, whether a Gillette Tech or some other. Mine was about $19 on Ebay (sorry, Amazon), so about $4 more than I paid for this one. I also recommend a 3-piece type over the butterfly. It seems more solid, and if you find yourself needing to try to shim your razor to increase the efficiency, it will work much better.]
