Missing Pieces, No Instructions
I live on a small lake and use an umbrella net 3 or more times per week to obtain fish bait and for food for my pet turtles. I only bought this product because I wanted the net part. I already had a metal frame from a Ranger umbrella net that I had bought previously. The Frabill net part will do, but it is not that great because the mesh is wider than I would like, as well as stiff. As for the Frabill frame, no instructions were provided, so I don’t know what was missing from the box but, there is no way that the frame of a functional drop net could be constructed from what I received. Further, the struts of the frame are thin and flimsy. This is the third brand of 42” umbrella net that I have used. The Promar was the worst, as its frame design caused the net to slip off, making the entire rig spring apart in a spectacular spray of water. After modifying it, I still use the Promar net part. The best was the Ranger net which, at this writing, Amazon no longer offers. I have had three of them and wore them out with heavy use (and storage outside) at a rate of about one every 2 years. With the Ranger, I have caught hundreds of bait fish, dozens of turtles (not on purpose and released), 2 eating size-catfish and 1 bass (also released), and 2 water snakes. I can’t recommend the Frabill umbrella net to anyone who doesn’t already have a functional umbrella net frame.

Definitely caught minnows like we wanted and easy to use

Works but just barely.
Was at my normal minnow spot. 4x6 hole with 100 or so minnows swimming around. Only caught 5 in 15 mins. They swim out before you can get it out of the water. It bends to easily when you pull it out even on a metal rod. Just buy a normal trap if your after minnows.

FaIR qUALITY
In all my years of using nets of this type, I never had one start to feel soft, and this one has. When you give a fair tug, to entrap the caught bait, the support bows have already started to flex. previous ones(not this brand to my knowledge) I never had this issue with. I don't foresee this net lasting the years the old ones used to. I only used it for 4-5 days, maybe 50 dips and that is when I noticed the bows flexing...Just not exactly satisfied with the purchase... more than likely won't but the same brand next time...

Does exactly what it is supposed to do!
Added an extendable paint rod to it. Allows us to stay back away from the minnows. When they are on it, pull. Easy to use.

Awesome Deal
I wish they would have added an eyelet hook to attach a rope to. that would be nice.

Missing part
Open this up yesterday and it's missing the top where the metal arms connect and the rope ties too. My 7yr old she was pretty upset too.
