Journey to Heaven: A Road Map for Catholic Men Paperback – May 12, 2014

In Journey to Heaven, Randy has, in my opinion, produced his best work so far. I think that works targeted at Catholic men as both real Catholics and real men are largely lacking. Often Catholic men are treated as though they should not be men if they want to be Catholics, or they can’t be Catholic if they are real men. Both of these are nonsense as both are integral to the development of authentic Catholic men. This work is spot on here in target and in message.Randy combines his personal insights with insights from men out there trying to lead as real men and real Catholics. His insight and theirs point to a consistent set of themes facing the Catholic man: dealing with a feminized culture, detachment from material things, authentic masculinity, struggles with pride and control, challenges of being a man in today’s society. It covers topics on prayer, marriage, family, dealing with technology, lust for power, money and sex, growing in faith, and being an authentic Catholic in a world that is often hostile to the faith. There is also an appendix on dealing with pornography – a plague that has claimed too many men.If you want to hear what many of the men recognized as leaders on men in the Church say, this is a book for you. If you want a guide to challenge you to be a better man and a better Catholic, this is a book for you. If you are struggling and want help in moving forward, this is a book for you. If you have a Catholic man in your life and want to understand the world he is facing and how you might support him, this is a book for you. Finally, if you want to get your dad or husband a powerful gift for Father’s day, this is a book for you.

The book is very engaging! It talks about how a real man of Catholic faith should exercise his spiritual life - sounds difficult especially with so many distractions and busyness of life but very much doable - a way of life that will truly bring one to heaven. If only men know and realize that the Catholic church is so rich with tools and teachings on how to attain real peace and happiness, overcome problems and difficulties then life is more peaceful and life's journey is much easier. We need men of real faith at this time that our world is so crazy. I'm glad to know that we have quite a number of these such as the author himself and his resource persons of this book. We need praying men this time so we can defeat evil that seek the ruin of our souls. This book can help and guide men and women especially those who seek the truth.

10/10 Would reccomend to any man looking for a wake up call or an aid in his life to help.

A lot of good practical advice. Most chapters end with an interview. I'm not a huge fan of interviews, so that format detracted a bit for me. However, the questions and the good advice the book contains is worth reading for anybody who takes their faith seriously, and wants a resource to help develop.

A must read for any Catholic man that desires to deepen their daily walk with Christ and live out their Catholic faith more deeply. This is a great practical road map and written in a way for us Catholic men to learn and grow from. I would encourage all Catholic men to read this book. Contrary to what secular society tells us about manhood "Journey to Heaven" defines what it really means to be a man. Randy incorporates the wisdom and beauty of Catholic Church teaching with his own real life experiences and those of other leading Catholic men to create a clear road map for ordinary guys like me. What's lacking are uncomplicated tools for men with brevity and clarity as to how best to live our lives- where to start and how to continue. There are so many resources out there that confuse us, so many that are simply too far fetched. Randy Hain's Journey To Heaven is an easy-to-read, concise book meant for reflection and action for men of character and good will.

Great book. Super guide for men..Catholic men, businessmen, and fathers to all walks of life. The interviews in each chapter broaden the thoughts and roadmaps laid out by the author. Randy provides valuable insights and prayerful thoughts throughout the book. The book provides guidance as we all continue on our spiritual journey. Thank you Randy. Highly recommended.

I was a recent convert to Catholicism (2009) and my understanding of the Catholic Faith was limited to say the least. I have read a good selection of books about various topics concerning the Faith.I was always looking for a book that would help guide me through my journey as a Husband and Dad.THIS BOOK ABSOLUTELY NAILS IT!!Filled with helpful practical advice that stays faithful to Catholic teaching.
