These brand seemed a bit thinner and less sticky than other brands I’ve used. We used it on large outdoor use garbage bags for moving our clothes and the tape wasn’t super sticky. It worked better on plastic tubs and cardboard boxes.

I got this because I thought it really was gaffers' tape - the tape used by gaffers in a film studio, used to hold or secure virtually anything because it's freakishly strong. It wasn't.It's about as strong and useful as any heavy duty tape you can buy at your local hardware store.

Most people in the US seem to have no idea what gaffer tape is, and the few that know the name think you mean duct tape, so buying the stuff locally (except at specialist stores for a ridiculous markup) is difficult.I finally ran out, and needed some more and where I used to buy from has gone out of business. Figured I'd try a small roll of this, and I am very happy. Flexible, sticky, easy to tear, matte finish, gaffers tape. Exactly what I needed and will be buying more.(Note to the seller: the bonus roll of clear tape is awful, so I hope that's why you're giving it away, because I would not pay money for that. The adhesive is way too sticky and turns clear tape into opaque tape just from peeling it off the roll. But I didn't buy it for the clear tape, so I am not taking anything off the review of the gaffers tape, as that stuff really is awesome and I'm buying another roll now. I just wanted to mention the clear tape, because it doesn't really add any value to the purchase, though it is appreciated either way.)

This brand of Gaffer tape should only be used for temporary installation. Tape pulls away from floor, wall & appliances after 3 days. If using for an event or photo shoot it works well for you because you don't need it to stay in place for a long period of time. Also be careful when using, the tape does stick to itself and is hard to get apart only pull out small amounts at a time or you will be wasting a lot of tape.

If you want tape that’s pretty much guaranteed not to pull up any paint when removed, this will work great. But it also does not stay in place as well as most other gaffer tape. I’m using it for two different applications right now where it’s not staying stuck to itself, to painted window trim, to painted steel, or even to bare cardboard. It sticks a little better than painters tape.I would not buy this again.

Easy to tear with my fingers, kept coming off from getting wet, other wise stayed well but still left residue if not removed in a short time frame . Very sticky

The tape is sticky and matte, but there is a reason why you only see pictures of the tape showing the "gaffer tape" emblem still attached to it. You may be surprised with how thin the roll of tape is when you receive it. In the picture when a man has a roll of tape attached to his tool belt, it's about 1/8 of that thickness. I've pulled off approximately 220 inches of the tape so far (roughly 6 yards), and I already feel compelled to order another one. Not surprising since it does say 10 yards, but make sure you know what 10 yards of tape actually looks like before your order. It certainly does not look like the tape attached to that man's tool belt. The tape is exactly as described, but the pics don't tell the entire story - for this I have docked the product one star. If you're thinking, "well that's your fault for being an amateur tape purchaser", then you may consider my review 5 stars.

Used on a painted metallic surface (engine cowling) that gets fairly warm when in use. When removed after a few weeks, the tape left a residue that was not easy to remove, unfortunately.

There are times when I want a good adhesion to surfaces, and there are times when I don't and using gaff tape is often temporary for me when onsite for just a few hours to tape down wires. The good thing is it does what it is supposed to and it doesn't leave residue which is great, but on more delicate surfaces like a school's gym floor I can't suggest using this as it would rip off any varnish easily due to the strong grip, just wear some very linty clothes and put it on there first, lol, and then on the floor.The shade of white is nice and bright white, so no complaints about that. Generally this tape is great. I wish they made a clear range for different levels of adhesion, then I'd buy different tapes for different surfaces as needed.On carpet/cement/metal, this is just wonderful. On painted/varnished or other delicate surfaces, be careful and test a discrete area first or just don't use it on these surfaces.

Bought to make a temporary vent attachment for a/c over the summer.Tape needed firm rubbing on to get adequate adhesion to uPVC. Paint and glass; no trouble. Easy to tear by hand so easy to fit. Once in place the joint is working very well and the matte white is unobtrusive.It remains to see how well it weathers and how low residue the tape is on its removal after three or four months.So far I'm very pleased with this tape.

Works well although the wood floor I used it on it left some residue

I bought the Gaffer tape for the sole purpose of taping a constructed foamboard box. I didn't want a glossy tape. I wanted a black matte to match the black matte foamboard. To my dismay, the next day the Gaffer tape was lifting. Oh well, I tried.
