Best Bathrobe Ever
In this review, I'll try to respond to some of the points raised in other reviews. First of all, you should know (and I wish other reviewers would post this info too) that I am 6'3" and weigh 185. Normally I wear a size L, but for this robe I bought XXL to get the full 59" length. It goes down to just below my calves and just above my ankles. I wouldn't have minded if it was a bit longer, say as long on me as it is on the model in the picture, but this seems to be as long as they come. At XXL, of course, it wraps around me quite a bit, but for me this is a plus in a robe, as it means when I sit down with my legs apart, I'm not flashing the room. The quality of the terry cloth seems quite high -- quite a bit higher, for instance, than my previous robe, which came from Lands End, and higher than my everyday bath towels, also from LE. It is very soft. It is true that I have had a few very luxurious, expensive towels as gifts that were a bit softer, but considering the amount of fabric in this robe, if it used that kind of terry cloth the cost would be 4 times what this is. This is softer than most towels. If you want something substantially softer, then terry is not what you want -- consider a fleece robe. It won't be as absorbent, but it will be softer. In terry, this is as soft as it comes, at least anywhere near this price range. It is true that it makes quite a bit of lint in the dryer, but that is normal for terry -- every towel I've ever bought does the same, no matter how high the quality. I washed it before wearing it the first time and it filled the lint trap, as expected. I know, based on experience with towels, that it will continue to do so in future washings, but less and less each time. Due to the way it is constructed, terry is not a cloth for the ages -- no terry towel or robe I have had has lasted more than a couple of decades of normal use and washing before it started becoming a bit threadbare and stitching started letting go. It's the nature of the fabric, and that nature is why it is so soft and absorbent. Flannel, by the way, has similar properties, which is why flannel sheets and shirts get thinner every year.It is also true that, if you brush it against thorny bushes, it will snag. Terry cloth is made of loops of yarn, and any terry will snag. I just went and looked at my towels, including the high-quality, expensive, Turkish cotton towels, and they all have the occasional pulled thread -- this is normal, and not a big deal. Again, if you plan to wear it around a lot of sharp edges, fleece may be a better choice for you. I wear it in the house, and it's not a problem. It is quite heavy. I like this, but if you want a light-weight robe, this is not for you. The hood is quite large. Again, I like this -- it feels like a monk's robe, and I can choose to wear it forward (say, when napping) or pushed a bit back, like the model in the picture. The cloth is reasonably thick, not quite as thick as a plush towel, which is a good thing since, if it were, it would weigh too much and be too hot inside a normal house. I keep my house around 65 degrees in winter, and it is quite comfortable. I imagine it may be a bit too warm in the summer months. One nice feature is that each of the belt loops is actually 2 loops, one above the other, so you can decide how high to wear the belt.Overall, I am very happy with this robe and enjoy wearing it. It is thick, soft, plush, luxurious, and very comfortable. Considering the amount of fabric and comparing it to the price of good towels, the price seems quite reasonable.

Terrible material, but a nice pattern
Ordered two of these based off of the solid description and 400+ 4.5 average star reviews at the time of ordering. Seemed like a can't-miss! That was mostly incorrect, unfortunately. The good part is that the overall pattern - length, cut, etc. is pretty nice. It's a good style for casual lounging around the house. The hood is deep, but I find that a plus. The bad part of this item is the material. This has to be some of the lowest quality terry I've ever seen. In about two days, there were noticeable pulls and fraying all over. Several weeks in, these robes are absolutely covered in tatty shabbiness! This is with general wear, nothing approaching out of the ordinary. I'd never have this on even around extended family, never mind friends.Overall, I'm extremely surprised and disappointed in this product. Surprised that it has so many positive reviews- and disappointed that a highly-reviewed and not-inexpensive product was so very underwhelming.Buy with caution.

Robe glorious robe
I am 5' 9" 179 pounds, not a big gut, exercise regularly. Based on the reviews, I ordered a large. Withing 5 minutes I ordered a return, then ordered a medium. The large was huge, huge. It almost hit the ground. I could fit at least two people inside to robe. The front of the hood hung down below my nose. When the medium arrived, I tried it on and it fit. Then we washed it, maybe it shrunk a tiny bit - it is cotton. But wow, what a robe. It fits great. If I pull the robe to the front, maybe there are 8-10 inches of space in a triangle shape when I look down into the robe. This is a good fit as you need room to sit down, etc. The large had 2 feet of space (think wearing a bear rug). This is a good quality robe also for absorbing water and keeping me warm. The craftsmanship looks good. No strings, no odd stitching. I never had a cotton terry type robe. I want this for winter time in central Texas, but to also take on ski trips for the run to the hot tub. Very satisfied with the purchase and hoping it lasts.

My son loves it!
I bought an XXL for as a replacement Christmas present for my son. He's 6' tall, and weighs about 210lbs. I had bought him a different brand robe for Christmas last week, L/XL, and it was too small after one washing. This one arrived this morning, 2 hours before he was coming from out of town for "Christmas part 2" with his girlfriend. I washed and dried it (his dryer is broken and I wanted it soft and fluffy so he could wear it right away). It might have shrunk a tad, but it fits him PERFECTLY! "Mom - I look like a Star Wars character!" Of course, he grew up loving the movies, so that's fine. :) Very nice quality, pockets low enough and double-loops (2 of the cons for the previous robe). As you can see from the photo, the bottom of the robe is about 2 inches from the floor. By the way, he gave the other robe to his girlfriend. It's big on her, but she's very happy. :)

Which one did you get?
This was the second one I purchased as the first one was great. Unfortunately the second one didn't do to well in the washer. After two washings the white one still looks new (1/2 inch shrinkage in length). The black one after one washing started to fray badly as you can see the two side by side. The tags are the same except the size indication tag on those tags one says XXL and the other one says 4. The 4 tag is the one that frayed. I Think different manufactures using difficulties of material so which one did you get.

pulled terry threads destroyed robes looks.
Nice fit, length quick delivery. Very bad terrycloth running of threads. The terry loops get caught on something and before you know it your robe is just a garment of hanging threads and looks terrible. Would not purchase again. Shoping for another robe right now.

Worth the money!
I bought this robe for my husband and, in a nutshell, he loves it!The robe is of an excellent quality: very nice thickness to the fabric, very soft, washes and dries well (cold wash/ low dry), and the best thing, according to my husband, is the length - he is 5' 10", and this thing is nearly floor length. He was sick and tired of the robes that just were not long enough to keep everything covered and warm, and this Arus robe is the very first one that actually delivered in that department. He also loves the hood, and double belt loops. Oh, and the chestnut brown color... such a deep, beautiful brown! The finishing is also good; no crooked or flimsy, splitting seams, no loose threads, etc.We are both very pleased with this robe, and highly recommend it to anyone, man or woman, who is looking for a nice, warm, cozy robe that will last for years to come. For size reference, my husband is 5' 10" and about 240 lbs, and the robe is XXL, and it wraps around just right, no shortage of fabric or belt to cover oneself.

Not overly impressed.
I have a housecoat. It is red with stars in the cotton towelling. I've had for a long time ( more than 10 years). It is still in good shape. Very few snags on it. My husband has been wearing this one for less than a week. There are thread pulls on the bottom already ! :( He is just fresh out of the hospital, hasn't worn it outside or on anything it could get caught. Might still return it. For the price I expected better.! We returned the first one which ran about $60.

i was worried that XL should be ordered but glad i am i went with the Large
I am 6'2, 200lbs 34" waist. i ordered the large Arus Hood'n full ankle robe. i was worried that XL should be ordered but glad i am i went with the Large. it seems like an appropriate fit. i am not swimming in this rob, but nor is it tight. seems comfortable. before wash it was 8" above the ground and after wash it was 10" so that's quite a lot of shrinking. but then, it was a bit big so after shrink, perfect! ii have long monkey arms but after the wash the sleeves came right to my wrist. this robe is a thing of beauty. the hook you hang it on needs to be sturdy as the robe is heavy. instructions say to Air dry, no heat. well after 2 hours it was still damp, so forget that. i put it on "extra low" heat and it dried, and shrank. i compared this robe with Sears and Ralph Lauren brand and also with a rob from the Bay. I feel like Arus robe is higher quality, though a bit more money. i wish there was a Monogram option though.

Xl fits like a north american extra large
This ia a bath robe that is well made and sewn like it is double thick. Reviews spoke of how soft it is... its not microfleece soft. Its as soft as you can expect an extremely well made very absorbant heavy cotton towel to be. If you are looking for an after shower robe. This is definately the one. Its also warm and could substitute as a comfy robe to warm up in. It is not meant to serve as an everyday housecoat though it could be used as such. I am 5’9” and 175lbs. I ordered an extra large based on reviews since i wanted something loose and wrap around. I could have gotten a medium if i wanted an exact snug fit. The xtra large is a just a bit bigger than i personally was hoping for but is very cozy. It goes over my ankles but does not envelop my slippers nor does it drag on the ground... a perfect cozy length. The navy blue is on point. A brown one could serve as a star wars jedi knight robe and the hood fits as such. If this is what you are looking for it is worth the money. I am happy with my purchase.

Good product but sheds a little bit
I am 5' 10" and 150 pounds. I love completely wrapping myself in a bathrobe after a shower and so I went with XL size (even though normally L size would have been more appropriate). I am so glad that I went with the XL as I did not need to alter even the height. The product is well made and the only reason I give it a four star instead of a five star is because it sheds a bit. As per the instructions, I washed it before use, but even so it still sheds a bit. I am hoping the shedding will stop after another wash.

Expensive and worth every penny!
So I tried the little brother to this product and found it to be decent but, I wanted better! The full length chestnut brown version of this product is almost double the price of the regular sized item! I thought, there must be something more to the full length version other than just a little more material? If you look at the title of the full length version as compared to the regular version, the regular version has the word Terry in the title or as the full length version does not

Everyday Housecoat.
Really good value.. I bought this for my wife.. she loves my xl sweat shirts.. I have bought her housecoats in the past from Victoria Secret.. they are usually really short (even their terry towel model) - I also have never seen many with the hood. This one is very plush is long even on me (6'1) and is really comfortable. The silk style ones have their time and place - but I think this is a perfect housecoat for a man or woman who just wants to relax. Excellent everyday housecoat.Update 10/11/2016:If anyone is thinking of this robe for their wife or husband don't hesitate. Its been two years and my wife uses it everyday - it is extremely durable even after being washed a million times!

Not terribly impressed. Based on other reviews I ordered large ...
Not terribly impressed. Based on other reviews I ordered large (I'm 6' 190). average build. And rhe robe barely does up..not 'swimming in it' ike others have mentioned. So for the cost I'd hope to be swallowed up in it and comfortableSo a note for other guys of same height and build..go for an XL

Good robe
Robe is as good as others described..wasn't sure the size would fit me due to the other comments..6ft 3 person ordered x large as did someone who was 5ft 9 and seems both were happy with length..I am 5ft 9 175 lbs and ordered the large..it fits shoulders well, good amount around waist and is about 1 inch above my ankle.maybe there isn't a huge difference between sizes..all in all it appears to be a good quality robe..

Too narrow and shrank after one wash
The robe is too narrow at the bottom for this type of robe, There is too little material to comfortably surround the legs - it covers the legs but with insufficient overlap. I ordered a large - 5'10" 185lbs so I think a larger size would have been too long. Plus the hood has way too much material - With the hood raised, the material covers my face. Pull it back, and the hood wants to fall off to the back. If I had tried this on in a store, I would never have bought it. I would have returned it but returning online goods is a pain. I decided to give it a shot and keep it. The problem worsened after one wash - cold water by itself - hang dry. The robe lost an inch of width - not sure about the length since I had not measured it. My older robe - 15 years old and washed umpteen times never shrank. The new robe will wind up in a Goodwill depot.

First time ever a robe that fits!
I gave this to my husband for a birthday gift and it is literally the first time he has ever had a robe that really fits! He's 6'4" and a big guy the 2x has enough length in the arms and body to fit properly. It's a good weight of fabric so that it feels thick but not heavy for him to wear. I am so pleased that he finally has something that fits and feels good on him.

My husband's favourite birthday gift!
Just gave this robe to my husband for his birthday yesterday, but here's what I observe so far...the fabric is very thick and soft, and will be wonderful on cold winter mornings. The length is perfect, too. He's 5' 10" tall, and the robe (size Large) falls just around ankle length. The quality of the stitching and overall construction of the robe seems to be of very high quality. I'm really pleased with my purchase, and highly recommend this Arus robe to anyone looking for a well-made, warm and comfortable bathrobe.

Bottom all frayed and stitches pulled out
The size, weight and fabric of the bathrobe looked like they were perfect until I started noticing the massive amount of pulled threads an stitches and especially a ” bald ” spot at the bottom of the robe where the treads of the fabric were all pulled out. I just can imagine what it woukd look like after a wash. I am unable to get a replacement from Amazon directly so this is where my review stands.

True authentic one!
Awesome *hooded* bathrobe - The material is truly as described, authentic Turkish robe. Super-absorbent, ideal for putting on when exiting fro the shower. Feels awesome and dries you up very well! Check the sizes well - they fit quite large. The provided measurements (Length / Circumference) are actually surprisingly accurate and reflected "after-wash" values (i.e., when product shrank after wash).

Buy it.
I wear this robe EVERY day. It's super heavy... Don't expect a stick on hook to hold this motha up. Love the hood, keeps me warm. Does fit quite large, I'm super tall and thin, so I have to wrap it around myself, but it's actually long enough! I'm 6'7" and it comes almost to my ankles, which is a first for me. I balked a bit at the price at first, but it's totally worth every cent.
