Won't Get Fooled Again
Having experienced the most sublime Poire William liqueurs in the past I wrongly assumed that this would be in that league: fairly dry with the most intense and distinctive William flavour. This stuff does admittedly taste a bit Williamish, but is disgustingly sweet. We put a mere teaspoonful of different fruit liqueurs such as Briottet raspberry (exquisite) or blackcurrant (outta dis woild!) on a bowlful of Greek yogurt, often topped with toasted flaked almonds, and so these bottles last us many months, giving us great pleasure. I just hope we can stomach this Merlet stuff, but it may end up being tipped down the loo. Those who enjoy extreme sweetness will be less damning than I am. So, folks, if that's your thing don't let me put you off....

Taste is personal
Whether in a kir, or even drunk on its own, I find that this, as liqueurs go, is subtle and flavourful, where many liqueurs can be either uninteresting or brutal.Personally, I just love it.

Sickly insipid flavourless!
Disappointing in the extreme first its sickly sweet second it tastes as much like pears as my arse on a hot day wont be buying again should have listened to Mr B R Hargreaves review where he notes much of the same!

Mellow poached pear liqueur
A really creamy and mellow poached pear tasting liqueur, more opulent tasting than Le Jay, which is lovely too but sweeter and with more of a fresh, crisp pear edge.
