Worked extremely well for me - updated 1 year review
Working really well for me. I am a 57 year old man with gray to white hair that was dark brown many years ago. I wanted something to gradually darken so the darkening would be less noticeable. As instructions and web site state 2-4 weeks for visible results, that is what I was anticipating. Instead, my wife could see visible changes after two days / applications. The next day, after another application, she was concerned people would start to notice. I am now disciplining myself to use it every few days so I don't get too dark too fast.I apply the shampoo first thing after getting in the shower. Then I shave, which takes about five minutes, then I wash, which takes another three minutes, then rinse everything. So shampoo stays in hair around eight minutes. It takes a lot longer to apply the shampoo than normal shampoo. This is due to thick consistency and desire to thoroughly get it evenly applied to all hair.I will update review if something goes wrong, but right now I am super pleased. My only challenge is not getting dark too fast.Three months later: Using it every day now. Still very happy. No one who doesn't know I am using it has commented on my darker hair. Good stuff. One year update: My usage over the past year has averaged about 6 of 7 days each week. No one except the few I have told are aware I am using it. No one has noticed due to the very gradual progression. I really like the fact that it retains, to a degree, the original light and dark shades of my hair to start with. It doesn't darken all the hair the same shade. This way it does not look dyed.In December I got the conditioner to try out. It is okay. I don't really see a use for it unless you are into extra super conditioning. The one impact it had for me for the two months I used it was to add extra darkness and lengthen the time it was in my hair, this caused my hair to get darker, quicker. I checked the price per ounce and it is close to the price of the shampoo. So if you want conditioner, use it. Otherwise you could get the same effect by applying more shampoo and leaving it in longer. I have added pictures so you can see how much darker the hair has become over the year.

Too Runny Compared to Previous Batches Causing Big Mess
I've used and appreciated Menfirst Gradual Gray reducing shampoo before but this batch is different.1) The label information was in Spanish so if the directions had changed from before, I couldn't read it.2) Even after shaking, the shampoo came out of the tube in nearly the consistency of water. It ran through my fingers and what I managed to get in my hair mostly ran off. This consistency made a hell of a mess as it splattered all around the shower so I had to scrub the shower after use to prevent staining.3) Unlike the previous shampoo, this batch immediately stained my hands creating the need to scrub my hands multiple times.

why is my hair red?
ok, so i've been using this stuff for the last few months and up until the last few tubes, i thought it was pretty good... still not sure if there is a dye in it but that's of little consequence...what i would like to know is WHY the last two tubes i've received turned my hair a reddish tint?!are you guys trying to cut costs but using different formulation?i am not and have never been Irish so i would very much appreciate it if you would change the formula back to what it was before!

Gradual Grey
Firstly, I liked how it is easy to use, smells nice, and is not harsh.I’m older(72), have all my hair and it’s of medium length, going over my ears at the top and over my collar. I’m fortunate that I’ve been mostly “salt and pepper” for years but my hair, without help, is turning totally grey. I ordered the Mensfirst product because I had tried the Control GX and, while it certainly gradually covered some grey, it was very harsh and left my hair rough. So far, after using the Mensfirst product for one tube, I’ve seen only a very slight change to the color of my hair which, so far, has been a bit disappointing. It’s also very expensive. Having said this, I just received another tube and am going to continue to see if I have better coloring results. The jury is still out

Disappointed
I will preface this review by saying that before I even purchased this I read to achieve quicker results it was recommended to apply to dry hair, leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing out, which is what I did.I initially thought this was working pretty well as I used it daily for about 3 weeks. It appeared my hair was getting darker without overdoing it. The issue started for me that it seemed like my hair was far less manageable than normal and drier than normal. One day I decided use my normal daily shampoo before using Menfirst (Tricomin Densifying Shampoo and Tricomin Reinforcing conditioner that I get from a doctor's office). I used the Tricomin one time and all of the darkness that had been achieved with Menfirst was completely gone and my hair was very very gray. I cannot continue using Menfirst as I am really bothered with how it leaves my hair and especially seeing that using a normal shampoo one time completely removes any progress you have made makes this product imo worthless and a sham.I would not recommend this product unless you are looking for something that only lasts until you wash your hair one time with normal shampoo. I will never use it again and feel stupid as after the first week I purchased a second bottle which I have since thrown in the trash.I guess it will work for those that don't have their hair really dried out like it did for me. It says it is also a conditioner but it clearly didn't seem that it had any conditioner in it at all for me. My hair also appeared less dense as well when using Menfirst.Disappointed is an understatement.
