To understand it, no one can from this one
I happen to be its translator in my language. Not at all good. It is a compilation of the two-volume one, "God Talks With Arjuna - The Baghavad Gita, again from Self-Realization Fellowship. One who really wants to understand the Gita, extremely metaphorical, should buy the two-volume one, which is more than excellent, written from Paramahansa Yogananda, "The Father of Yoga in the West". Find it here in Amazon. The full meaning is there (the two-volume), a masterpiece.

True Spiritual Classic
In my mind and experience, no other translation and commentary on the Gita comes close to Paramahansa Yogananda's for clarity, depth, understanding and insight. Reading it -- along with his other major chef d'oeuvre, "The Second Coming of Christ" -- has convinced me to become a devotee and student of his teachings. The insights he offers to the Gita are often literally breath-taking and his writing style is so eminently understandable as to be useful by anyone with a modest education and a sincere desire to learn. This is indeed a true spiritual classic of major proportion!

Five Stars! amazing book!!
The editors and publishers at SRF have once again put together a masterpiece of spiritual wisdom harvested from the vast teachings - both spoken and written, of that great yogi Paramahansa Yogananda. It is almost like SRF has cloned the very creative and enlightened well of love that was Yogananda - and pulled out his teachings on the Bhagavad Gita from the astral world itself. This is a fresh and new approach to explaining the science of yoga - if that can be said about teachings and ideas that are thousands of years old.The editors were very careful to keep true to Yogananda's teachings and his words. It has all his energy and thoughts carefully edited and threaded together in a very readable and enlightening format. The book will delight old SRF devotees and inspire new believers. The book delivers at all levels and one will find reading this book a real gift to their spirit.

Krishna would be proud!
Out of all the translations of the Bhagavad Gita that I've read, Paramahansa Yogananda's is the most beautiful and comprehensible. Not to mention his insightful commentary that goes along with it. This new ebook version from SRF is so lovely - colorful and aesthetic. I've had the print version for a while now and always enjoyed it, even just reading a page or two puts my mind in an uplifted state. And so naturally I'm happy to have this on my kindle for on-the-go perusal. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in striving to live a spiritual life in the modern world.

A must read for anyone that isn't interested in reading ...
A must read for anyone that isn't interested in reading the Bhagavad Gita superficially. Yogananda sets the stage for the Gita perfectly so that the reader is (more) mentally prepared to embark on the Gita journey.

Great Teachings
A great summary of the more in-depth teachings in the two volumes of "God Talks With Arjuna". You may want to read this first then "God Talks With Arjuna" to get the most benefit from this magnificent teaching.

Worth it! New Knowledge for me.
I loved the details and coherent explanations. The pronunciations of the sanskrit (?) names and words made my reading-flow a little difficult. I would love to hear the proper pronunciation of the italicized words. It was straighforward and easy to read, and it provided great clarity over past books for proper meditation techniques.

Most practical interpretation of bhagwad gita based on authentic Yoga
This books describes the gita apart from mythological interpretation but about daily struggles of rights and wrong.. It gives metaphorical explanations of human qualities / emotions such a attachment, ego , sense bound tendencies and how to with over them with mind control and divine guidance. It helps to understands the fundamentals of aunthentic Yoga described in Gita when followed , can lead to divine realisation.Very practical book if you are seeking answers and yearn to achieve mastery over mind. It’s a masterpiece indeed!Best book

Lovely and sustaining
A valuable, fluent, spiritually nurturing, complete Gita translation into English. This version is accompanied by just a few highlights from Yogananda's much longer commentary in his "God Talks With Arjuna", positioned so they do not obstruct the reading of the Gita verses. Yogananda is a jagadguru (world spiritual teacher) and occasionally interprets words and gives meanings that will be controversial with Sanskrit scholars because he wrote from his deepest intuition; in particular, he interprets passages to show the Gita as advocating yogi meditation in general, and Kriya Yoga (his diksha) in particular. For close study, I use Yogananda's smooth and wise Gita in conjunction with Swami Tapasyananda's "Srimad Bhagavadgita" (from the Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre) which has the Sanskrit in Devanagari script, Sanskrit in Roman letters, word-by-word literal translation, and translation in English sentences.
