Items needed to create a pton hack
Ok so I kept searching reviews to figure out what is needed to create a cheap version of the pton bike and through trial and error I have found it. See pics for the items.Bike is great and takes 15 minutes to put together even with a 3 yo trying to “help”. It is heavy and takes two people to bring in the house. Package exterior came damaged but the interior was fine. Don’t waste money on the assembly.Unless you are a racer, this works and saves you $1650 with the hacks! The pedals I first bought from amazon (venzo) did not work so I had to bike doctor to match the thread. The spd ones in the pic you can find online and work. The also come with the clips for your shoes.Happy spinning!

Review After Year One
Update Post: We originally purchased one of these bikes in June of 2015. We were a bit concerned about the low price because our intention was to use it in our fitness facility. This bike is rock solid. We now have 9 of them and will be purchasing 2 more this month. The bikes are used in spin classes daily. We have everyone from small, uber-fit petite women to hulking 6'2" 255lb men. These bikes get hours and hours of use each week. I recommended this bike to an associate who is opening a fitness facility. When he was purchasing some high-end equipment from a well-known gym equipment provider, he asked them about the bike (showed them the Amazon link I sent to him) and they were dumbfounded. They said that the bike had quite impressive features, especially for a bike that inexpensive and appeared to be a very, very good bargain. They actually had the bike on their computer when he went in the next day because they researched it more and said they were quite impressed by it. That, and the fact that their lowest priced bike was a bit below $900 reassured us that we made a great choice! We have even used these bikes in the parking lot for some special events. The only problems we had with the bike were with the screw on the tension knob on one. The bolt became a bit stripped and we had to order another one. The other issue with another one was with the brakes squeaking after about 8 months. This can happen if you don't "oil" the flywheel periodically because the brakes get dried out. A bit of treadmill oil on the flywheel fixed this immediately. We service the bikes bi-weekly, and that involves tightening the bolts on the seats (just to make sure they stay put) and just doing a check on all the bolts and moveable parts. But again, keep in mind that these bikes get literally hundreds of hours a month, so that minuscule amount of service is -wonderful-!If you're looking for a cost-effective, very dependable bike, you should definitely consider purchasing one of these. Absolutely worth it!ProsLow costVery easy assemblySturdy, solid constructionMinimal maintenance neededVery easy to move (we move these puppies a lot - even outside)Shipping was quick (and cheap - Yay Prime!)ConsThe brakes may squeak a bit after a while. This is resolved by oiling the flywheel periodically. (You should do this with any spin bike and make sure the tension is released after riding to ensure they don't dry a bit and squeak.

Good bike for the price. Just do a little regular upkeep on it.
A little maintenance here and there....Bought the Sunny spin bike in late September and use it 2-3 times a week quite vigorously. Here are a couple tips from a former bike mechanic and spinning instructor that may help extend the life of your bike.1. Lubricate all the friction points, include brake cable inserts, brake arm mounts, all bolts and screws, tension knob threads, with tri-flow lubricant prior to riding and periodically thereafter---I do mine once a month.2. Use bike grease on the slider components such as the seat post, handlebar insert and saddle insert. This will make it easy to adjust and prevent seizing.3. Check the torque of all bolts and screws (use a driver) either with a tension wrench, or barring that, a socket wrench and appropriate metric sockets and allen sockets. Refer to Sunny customer support for torque specs, or if you're comfortable, do it by feel--basically, you don't want play in the pedal arms nor looseness (or over torque, for that matter) in the bolts and screws.4. GREASE the pedal threads prior to installing your SPDs or regular pedals. Don't overtighten the pedal. they should be on solidly (use a pedal wrench) or at least a good box wrench and give them a balanced tightening so that they're really on there, BUT DON'T overdo it! Crank arms are easily strippable.5.Grab each crank arm and pull side to side and check for any play. There shouldn't be. If there is, flip the dust cap off and tighten the crank arms with a socket to the manufacturer's specs. *I don't know what the specs are, check with CS, or, if you've worked on your own bikes, torque a bit at a time until the play or wiggle is gone.6. Lubricate the felt brake pads with silicon based lube periodically. I do mine every week. Wipe down the flywheel after each use. I haven't had to lubricate the chain on my bike yet, but I think it's probably a good idea. Just haven't taken the chain guard off yet.7. Check tightness of knobs, screws, bolts regularly. tighten and re-lube as necessary. Take the tension off the flywheel after each ride. In short, take care of the bike with regular light maintenance and it should be fine.

BEWARE IF YOU LIVE IN CANADA...
I returned this bike after three weeks when it started to make noises in the bottom bracket area. The representative in California said to me that there is no warranty on the product in Canada. If you have a problem, you're on your own, doing your own repairs.

Noisy with a lot of vibration.
Looked like a good purchase going by other reviews, but turned out to be a regretful one.It makes such a loud noise, and there is a horrible vibration that goes through the whole frame.Ended up getting a replacement (which was a huge pain getting back in the box) and the second one was exactly the same, didn’t send back as I’m not going through that again to repackage.I’ve tried tightening / loosening the chain, which again is a total pain, the chain guard is screwed together in such an awkward way which makes this simple task so difficult.Doing the above didn’t improve it.Honestly think I’ve spent more time trying to fix the noise/vibration than I’ve actually been on the bike.Support is non existent, and I had to go through amazon support first, who by the way told me it’s completely normal for a spin bike to rattle and vibrate, apparently they have a manual that says this which they refused to show me.I hate it and wish I never bought it.

Received damaged product, manufacturer wants to charge for replacement part
The bike arrived damaged. The brake mechanism is bent, resulting in the pad being angled to the wheel. This causes a loud squeal when using the bike. I contacted the manufacturer about this, and they claim that defective products are not covered by their warranty. They want to charge me for a replacement part. Unfortunately, since the product is so large, returning it is not really feasible. So now I'm stuck with a broken bike.

Good quality product for this price

Must read
I first got it, and it was easy to put together. Used it once or twice and it started squeeking and the pedals seem to lag or have a bit of give. I’m used to commercial grade product and this is okay for light use. Not for an everyday use like I use it.

Reliable
I bought this model back in 2014 and when we had bad flood, I had to toss it and get a new one. This, I bought this model again, as it is reliable.I did notice some great tweaks since the first one I had, like the stop lever is more gradual instead of abrupt and the pedals now have a threaded nut to ensure they stay in place. (Had the rare instance of a pedal screwing off.)The only issue, but is solvable, which happened to the first bike and also happened to this new one: the seat will snap back on you in mid-ride. The seat connector is too close to the front of the seat when it should be closer to the back of the seat. Simply use the tools provided to slide the seat further back, so you have better balance and the seat won’t snap back on you anymore. Also, get a seat cushion, as this seat is really hard. This bike always gets me pumped and excited to ride.

BEST SPIN CYCLE FOR PRICE-AWESOME!
My Sunny Health bike came within 3 days (I believe 2 but I wasn't home the first try) - AWESOME! I had read numerous reviews online about different spin bikes before I ordered this one and each review I read pointed to this bike for the lower price. I was hesitant to try to put this one together on my own but up for the challenge as I've only put together small things before and definitely nothing mechanical. But with the help from YouTube (YouTube how-to videos have really made me a self-sufficient woman these days!) and the visual instructions, I was pleasantly surprised to have put it together in less than an hour!! Every part was there along with the tools to put it together! If it wasn't for the two nuts on the bottom that I had to figure out how to loosen (yes, I need to probably order arm weights next!) - but figured out with a wrench to give me extra strength on how to loosen, then I think this bike would have been together in about 45 minutes. I've had my bike for less than a week and love how quiet it is and how easy it was to begin using for me - a beginner! Well, I'm hooked on this! I've plugged up my laptop next to my bike and I'm doing spin classes online (Studio Sweat and GCN) and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new bike and workout. Best bike fun and it's a workout in my own home that I've had EVER!

Sturdy enough for a tall/heavyweight guy
I am 6'4" (1.94m) and 275lbs (125kg) so I am both tall and heavyweight. I thought I would be stretching the limits of this bike but so far so good (after only 2 weeks of usage). My seat is not even at the limit (position 8 out of 10) although the handlebars are at the maximum height since I like to be sitting up, not crunched down. The difficulty/weight/friction of the spin wheel is plenty enough for my strength so far, although I am not a world-class athlete, just a regular soccer/hockey player that likes to do biking indoors (winter time, when I cannot bike to work anymore because of the ice and snow).

Really noisy
I really wanted to LOVE this bike, but I should have paid a little more attention to other reviews. I like the look of it, especially the star on the wheel, the saddle isn’t too uncomfortable, and it was delivered ahead of schedule. However there are several things I don’t like. The handle bars only adjust up and down but cannot move closer to the seat, I can fix this by having someone weld on an extension for me. The strap on the pedals is weird to tighten. The worst thing though, is the noise coming from the axel housing. It clicks nonstop and when you stand up it makes a horrible clunking noise. I’m not a big person, 5’2” and 130lbs so not at all close to the weight limit and it shouldn’t make these sorts of sounds. I am going to do some more investigating to figure out how I can possibly fix these issues, but they may just be poor design. I understand it’s not a high end spin bike, but it should be better than this. Not totally disappointed and not totally happy with my purchase.

Great product, fantastic value!
This bike is one of my favourite amazon purchases. I have been using it for almost two years now and it still feels like the day I set it up. I use it 2-3 times per week and ride hard. If you want to save money on spin classes this bike is the way to go. Just look up a class on YouTube and go to town!!!! The bike is sturdy, smooth and is easily adjustable for various body types. I had to call the company with some questions and the customer service is great! Highly recommend if you are looking for a new spin bike!!!

Super nice solid spin bike
Bought this bike for at home use after a lot of research, it is solid and great quality. I bought the floor mat, gel seat cover and cell/tablet holder to use the Peloton app with. Great purchase, saves on spin class fees!

Good fit for large man
I liked how easy this bike was to assemble, I thought I would have to install the chain drive and flywheel but thankfully the majority of the bike is pre assembled.I am a large man 6'3 270lbs and it fits very well for my size, even better then some other spin bikes I've used at my local gymsSo far I've only gone on 3 hour long rides but the bike has been very sturdy, the chain drive is no louder than other bikes I've used.Make sure to read the manual and lubricate the felt pads that provide resistance on the flywheel before use.
