ZuPreem AvianMaintenance Natural Bird Diet for Cockatiels

A great food for birds as a part of a well balanced diet. My birds transitioned to these pellets from seed fairly quickly. I put about 2lbs of pellets in bags and freeze then to maintain freshness

I've tried a few foods for my cockatiels, mostly mixes of seeds and pellets, as well as one that was just pellets. The birds always avoided the pellets in the mixes, and weren't too keen on the pellets-only, whatever brand it was. This one, though, they love. The bag is huge for just two birds, but it's a good value. I'll stick some in the freezer to keep it fresh.

I absolutely love this product. I had been feeding all of my birds the zupreem fruit flavored pellets, but they would always leave the banana ones (or throw them onto the ground) so I bought this instead to minimize waste. I mixed it half/half at first until I was out of the fruit blend, then they transitioned to this just fine. Added bonus - I did not realize how much the red fruit zupreem colored their poop. Poop is so much less gross now. I wish I had transitioned to the natural earlier.

I will have to add photos of the zero waste left by my cockatiels. I feed a large, fresh salad (lettuce, spinach, carrot peels, and brocolli) and a small amount of plain seeds to my 12 cockatiels in the morning (the seeds are like whipped creme to the salad for cockatiels). Then, right before sundown when cockatiels eat their final meal before sleeping, I serve 3/4 cup of this feed in serving dishes. They will get excited and eat it all up. No waste. I like this better than other pelleted foods which leave a lot of waste/dust. I will only buy this going forward. Highly recommend to ensure that my cocktiels are getting their best diet for laying eggs and feeding hatchlings.

I buy this for our conures and they love it. no it's not cheap but good quality food isn't cheap.. I highly suggest buying this for your birds.. oh I left no stars for flavor because sadly I'm not going to eat it to find out what it taste like. lol.

when I hit 'reorder' on my Amazon account thinking I was ordering exactly what I had previously ordered. NOT THE CASE. I received a different size pellet. Amazon said I had to contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer was amazing and worked with me. I did have to pay to return the bag to exchange it -an additional $40 for what I believe is an amazon problem. Again - the manufacturer was quick to reply and stayed in the solution to get me the correct size pellet. I would recommend this product -Just Be Ware -of the size before hitting -order.

I buy this stuff all the time for my mealy amazon parrot. I know this size is made for cockatiels, but my parrot prefers the smaller size and makes less of a mess when he eats it. Also, all the pieces look and taste exactly the same, so he doesn't pick out the orange ones like he would do with the fruit blend variety. There are fancier, more expensive bird foods out there, but after 25 years of owning parrots, I can attest that this is the best bang for your buck. I only deducted a star because the food smelled a little stale when I opened it. Next time, I'll buy from a vendor that moves through their inventory a little quicker.
