These say “heat resistant” in the description. I just got a brand new dining room table that is now ruined because these are not heat resistant. I usually don’t leave reviews, but I don’t want anyone else to ruin their table thinking they are heat resistant.

I really, really love these placemats. I think they're just stunning, especially when placed on a black table. The material seems durable despite being quite light. The mat itself is actually quite large - one placemat takes up almost half the table! I solved this by folding the placemats in half, and now it fits my table perfectly. The mats fold very easily, which is great if you're concerned that some heat may seep through the mat because you can double up on the material by folding it. It does seem to leave a crease if left folded for too long, but I think it would level out with time if you left it unfolded or perhaps even ironed it. I'm pleased with my folded mats so I will be keeping them this way. My table scratches and leaves marks very easily, and these mats solved that problem and made my table look even nicer.Overall, a wonderful product. Just watch out for those creases, but otherwise you are golden!

Easy to clean but didn’t protect my table from the hot plate. My table now has a little weaved pattern from the hot plate.

These mats were so beautiful when I received them. They definitely unfold well (you just gotta leave them for about half a day after you take them out of the packaging) and all seemed well... but looks can be deceiving. It did come with a note saying "be careful with ketchup" and wash right away - well this should have been my sign to return them before it was too late. I didn't know how easily these things stain, but they stain SUPER easily. And it's not just ketchup to be wary of, it's any red food of any kind - hot sauce, pasta sauce, ketchup - you name it. I even tried cleaning it right away but it still doesn't fully come out. Tried vigorous scrubbing with dish soap but no dice. I thought maybe it's just the 'lighter' silver side that was easier to stain, but you can see in the photos that the dark colours stain too. I guess I'll just have to find a set that's dishwasher safer and just buy dark colours from now on... #ineedhotsauceinmylife

They look goo and look great in my dining room, the are vinyl and for the most part the clean off well, but they stain. My Daughter split hot sauce on it at the beginning of the meal and at the end of the meal when she went to clean it off there was and still is a red spot. easy enough to turn it over but it seeped through so you can kinda see it on the other side too. Other then that they are great.

They are a bit thinner than I thought they would be, so they may slide a bit on the table. They were shipped folded up, so they have a couple of wrinkles in them from the folds. I wetted them and then hung them straight and most of that came out. As they sit on the table they seem to be relaxing more. They are very pretty and exactly the color I was looking for. From a distance you would never know they are plastic, but I needed something that could be wiped off after every meal.An amendment to my original review: they stain easily. Anything tomato based stains and you cannot get it out. For example: ketchup, BBQ sauce, pasta or pizza sauce, even a slice of tomato. Sadly after a few months I am going to have to replace them.

Has just arrived. Item is as decribed, maybe a touch lighter grey then expected.Given as a gift and they are happy with the material it is made from.
