I bought the capri-glass top humidor and i am new to humidors, how do i properly season my humidor and what do i need to do to prime the humidifier?

Seasoned the humidor, installed 2 Drymistat's and original humidifier inside. Starts at 70% continues dropping after it's opened. No cigars inside.

Spanish cedar is a very dry wood. You need to "season" your humidor, which takes a few days -- let some moisture seep into the wood. Some people buy seasoning/conditioning wipes, and some people just use cigar juice. And YES, you will lose humidity EVERY time you open it (like your fridge loses its chill when you open it). Buy some good humidifiers. Also, humidity is a relative thing, so if you have your humidor in a hot room, it will register less humidity. Humidors are best kept in a cooler, darker environment.

How do you properly fill the humidifier with distilled water?

Put some distilled water/propolyele glycol in a small bowl...maybe 1/3 deep...place puck upside down in bowl. Puck will absorb water and become heavy.

is it a absolute must to use distilled water for the humidifier ?

Everything I've read says to use distilled water. That way you have less of a chance to contaminated your cigars. Distilled water is cheap compared to the cost of your cigars.
