NuSci Pure Mannitol Powder (1000 grams (2.2 lb))

I'd read recently of a study that found that Mannitol given to fruit flies with PD reversed the PD symptoms from being completely unable to walk to walking normally again. My mother has PD and has gone from taking her meds for it every 6 hours to every 3 hours to get through the day as symptom-free as possible. After doing a little research and finding that they haven't yet determined a "dosage" adequate for the same results in humans, I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try. And, replacing sugar with something natural when and wherever possible is a good thing. I started replacing the majority of the sugar in her coffee every morning with this. Mannitol is 75% as sweet as sugar, so it takes considerably more to get the right level of sweetness to taste as sugar. What I've done is added about 25% or so of sugar to the Mannitol to reduce the amount needed, make it last a little longer, and get it to where I'm using no more than I was sugar in her coffee.I've been giving this to her every morning now for 2 months and what I'm seeing is an increase in the length of time she can go between her medication doses...gradually getting up to 5 hours between; occasionally longer. I can't help but think that giving this to her is helping to increases the time between medication doses. I'll continue to give this to her daily and monitor her changes. My hope is to get her to between 6 & 8 hours between doses...or longer.

I have kidney stones and it helps flush me out instead of drinking so much sugar all the time.
