American Thermal Liquid Crystal Aquarium Thermometer Vertical Small

I have a little submersible heater in my 5 gallon betta tank. I could tell it was working and the water felt warm, but I was curious 'just how warm'. I stuck this on the glass on the opposite side of the hexagon tank (didn't want it on the same wall as the heater is stuck), and it read out the temperature right away. Also this saved my butt (and my betta) as somehow his heater became UNPLUGGED overnight (I blame my cats; they are Rulers of the Universe) and when I went to feed Elvis, I saw the temp had dropped to 72. Plugged the heater back in, and it's already heating back up (yay).Included is a picture of The King himself, Elvis, the Blue Mustard Betta! He's a happy dude!

I'm not sure how accurate it is. I dont have another thermometer to check. What I DO know is that its measuring the temp to be approx around the temp my little heater is pre-set to heat for. I have 2.5 gal tank with 1 betta. The heater I bought is meant to keep the tank at 78 degrees and shut off, turning on only to maintain that temp. From reviews I read it keeps the tank more around 74-76 degrees. The temp sticker is exactly at that point which makes me believe its accurate. I also love the size of it and the fact that it ISNT in the water.

This roughly measures 3 inches by 1. It's large and clear enough to read at a glance but small enough that its not obnoxious or distracting on a tank. I will say the instructions for reading it are worded so it's a lil confusing at first. Basically the water temperature is green. If you don't see green then it means one of 2 things. Either your water temp is so out of range that it doesn't read. In that case it's WAY too cold or hot. Or the temperature is whatever's in between the tan and blue lines. I'll definitely buy another when I upgrade my tank.

Over the years I've used all kinds of thermometers for my tanks, and this kind is the most accurate, readable, and trouble-free, when they work, and this does. The cheap ones are worthless, however, and a waste of money. I like that this is a small clean design in F* only, and is indeed accurate. I wish that it went a bit higher than *82, but for the tank it's on it shouldn't be problem.

I ultimately purchase this Thermometer after reading many reviews for many different Thermometers. I purchased this for $4.99, and so far it is great. Easy to Read, fast results. Very happy overall. Great for our starter tank!

The thermometer I received is very inaccurate. I am not sure if it is because my tank is plastic or if the thermometer I received is defective. The thermometer tends to read 68-70 most of the time and other thermometers when placed in the tank read 78 which is what the tank heater is set at.

Bought this for my office desk aquarium which is plastic and 1.6 gal, so pretty small. This thermometer sticks nicely to the side and does look obtrusive at all and seems to be doing a great job. It is about 3.5" long which is far more petite than the xl ones at the big box stores.

I read lots of reviews before purchasing and just re read to make sure I didn't miss something. This did not work. There are no color indicators. It's all just black. I'm really disappointed. I put the heater in but wanted to test the accuracy before taking my niece to get her new fish. Now we're going to have to wait until I can get something new.UPDATE: After 36ish hours it did begin working! So I've changed my original rating.
