domestic electric motors cost a lot, so i gave the chinese motor a try. as soon as i got it, i put through the paces to make sure it works before the guarantee runs out. no smoking, no sparks etc. it works!

Solid motor
The media could not be loaded. Very happy with this for the price. Seems well made. I haven't had any problems with it.

Great Replacement
Motor on the hay conveyor went out on the farm. Replaced the 1/2 HP motor with this one and it made a major improvement. Worked good out of the box. Install issues has nothing to do with the motor but rusted bolts and part after many years of use. Only time will tell on how well this motor will hold up, but for now, doing great.

Do not buy things from China
This motor was defective when I received it. I hooked it up by the instructions on the motor. Plugged it in and turned on the switch . The motor did not run, so I returned it

Significant issues with motor shaft diameter - Customer Service unable to solve
I purchased this motor as a replacement for a drill press. The sheave (pulley) I needed to use fit a 5/8 inch shaft. The motor came with a 7/8 inch shaft. After many calls and email exchanges I was told to return the motor and a replacement was sent. This one also had a 7/8 inch shaft. I finally found and purchased a sheave with a 7/8 inch bore; it was slightly too small, and the instructions that came with it were to heat it. I put it on my gas stove and heated it to 400 degrees, and it went very nicely onto the shaft of the motor. But when I installed the motor, I discovered that there was a bad wobble. I removed the motor from the drill press, planning in desperation to take it to an electric motor shop. It was then that I discovered that the 7/8 inch diameter of the motor shaft resulted from a sheath of some sort of plastic - it had melted when I put the hot sheave onto the shaft. When I cleaned up the mess, lo and behold, the motor shaft actually was 5/8 inch, my original sheave fit perfectly, and my drill press is now working perfectly.I was very frustrated that no one from Vevor or Amazon (they kept sending me back and forth) had any idea about this; I had asked repeatedly if there were a way to replace the shaft with one of the proper diameter. In retrospect, it should have been very easy, but without proper instructions, I would not know how to remove the plastic sheath, nor even why it was there. Customer Service had no idea how to help me.
