Bought this for a Christmas present for my grandson. It has 1 million tiny parts as Legos do so best advice. Be sure that they really like putting stuff together and they may need help putting this one together very difficult I would have to say.

First order had a broken remote-ones of the wires inside was not attached. Amazon replaced it quickly. My 10 year old son tested the remote and drive motor first thing. After playing with it though he noticed there were often glitches where the car would stop responding while driving for brief times during play. He's pretty frustrated with it and is so sad after he saved up his money to buy this. He definitely feels like it's overpriced for the quality he has experienced.

9-yr-old grandson is a natural engineer. Not only does this car allow him to build, but he could alter it to create other designs. He proudly brought it and with the remote control, ran it all around in our house. It worked on carpet as well as hardwood floors.
