great lens. softest lens ever for sony full frame but best bokeh 'obviously'. colors look great too. manual focus with the smallest area to focus in on. meaning..any little movement can create an out of focus shot but as long as you shoot in bursts or have patience..it'll be just fine. the extra work and how nice they come out can be rewarding, so this lens is plenty fun. definitely wouldnt shoot any weddings with this though.------after a couple months of use..its sharper than i previously thought. although still soft compared to many others wide open. if you stop down it becomes very sharp but if you shoot with lights in the backround, the bokeh balls are very octagonal and noticable. (non rounded aperture blades. so even at 1.2 or 1.4 it immediately becomes apparent) (perfectly circular though @ f/0.95) ...purple/green fringing is the absolute worst compared to other lenses (@f/0.95) but can be corrected in photoshop (or just refuse to shoot people in dark clothes against the sun).. but something to keep in mind. i still love this lens and am going to use it whenever possible because you get some of the dreamiest shots possible. ESPECIALLY when paired with flash or good lighting. also the best lens to shoot at night in my camera bag. the ISO doesnt have to be raised nearly as high as my 55mm zeiss 1.8 lens. but to me, this lens makes shooting fun. makes my very fast af lenses seem boring and more just point and shoot and not engaging at all. the feel and look is very premium and all metal. will feel like a dumbbell when you attach it to your camera for the first time.I watched manny ortiz's review on youtube before pulling the trigger on this. Saw the photos that came out and knew I needed this ASAP. but its up to you. if you are a professional looking for the best portrait lens. then skip this. if you are a hobbyist or a professional trying to make dreamy thumbnails or the craziest shots for instagram..then buy this. it is a very sharp lens until you zoom in lolthe photo i included was during a parade that was going on, just 3 days after i got this. dont mind the weird crop or angle..i know it was a bad shot. but i was literally just shooting everything possible that night. this photo i was able to nail focus and the subject was actually pretty far from me, and far for a 50mm. so if the firefighter was closer, the background wouldve literally looked like a blurred water paint. but this is just an example for night shots and how bokeh will look even if the subject is farther away. but trust me, if you have a flash, and possibly a closer subject...the pictures will come out incredible.

Amazing lens for the price, especially paired with the Canon R5. With the aperture wide open at f.095 it is incredibly soft with a very shallow depth of field so getting a sharp photo can be a challenge if you’re shooting at f.095 but that’s the fun of it. It’s helpful when shooting wide open to have the camera on a tripod. Solidly built, doesn’t feel cheap.

Die Tests im Netz zu diesem Objektiv halten sich in Grenzen. Trotzdem war ich von den wenigen Tests neugierig geworden und habe mir dieses Objektiv bestellt.Das Objektiv ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Der manuelle Fokus lässt sich sehr gut bedienen. Die Blende arbeitet ohne Rasterung, ist aber ausreichend schwergängig um sich nicht selbst zu verstellen.Durch die Blende von 0.95 erreicht man eine tolle Freistellung von Motiven, teilweise sogar mit einem 3D Effekt und das cremige Bokeh ist ein Traum. Der Kontrast mit Offenblende ist beschränkt, ab Blende 2 sind Schärfe und Kontrast jedoch sehr gut.Trotzdem werde ich dieses Objektiv zurücksenden. Warum?Erster Grund ist die Blende mit geraden Lamellen. Das Bokeh mit Offenblende zeigt schöne Runde Kreise, sobald man auf 1.4 abblendet werden daraus aber 11-Ecke. Gerundete Lamellen wie beim Vorgänger würden das verhindern.Zweiter Grund sind die massiven Chromatische Aberrationen. Sie sind in den Unschärfebereichen so breit und farbenfreudig vorhanden, dass die Beseitigung Lightroom an die Grenzen bringt. Teilweise sind sie aber auch im Scharfebereich sehr massiv.Es gibt dem Objektiv natürlich einen Charakter, mir persönlich ist es aber einfach zu viel Farbe an Stellen, wo keine hingehört.Man muss den Charakter des Objektivs also schon sehr mögen, um dafür fast 1000€ auszugeben. Nur für das tolle Bokeh ist es mir persönlich zu viel Geld.

Für kreative Fotografen, die Spaß haben am manuellen fotografieren haben, ist es genau das richtige. Ich hab mich auf Anhieb verliebt. Das Objektiv ist recht schwer aber dafür robust verarbeitet. In der Mitte ist es auch ganz weit offen noch ziemlich scharf, in den Ecken wie zu erwarten ist es nicht mehr der Fall. Das Bokeh ist ein Traum! Auf der A7rII liefert es tolle Ergebnisse. Anbei ein Schnappschuss bei Zimmerbeleuchtung (60W).

Hier stimmt der Preis und die Leistung.Gut verarbeitet, gute Haptik und (das wichtigste) es macht Spaß damit zu fotografieren. Es ist so eine gewisse Hassliebe, Gegenlicht schwierig ansonsten ein echter Traum und sooo smooth im Bokeh. Es macht einfach Spass!
