Great for setup with kid traveling with tablet
It worked great on a few airline flights we took recently. My kid always struggles with holding the tablet and with the tray table down it always takes up so much stuff and is difficult to get into a bag below the seat. With this it was not an issue. I think we all traveled a little better with it.All in all if you like watching your tablet or phone on a flight and get annoyed by holding it or the tray table this item is great. We also got the adaptor which is great for luggage layovers. I didn't expect to use it and was thinking about returning it but then our flight was delayed a few hours and it was great to have to help us more comfortably kill the few bonus hours in the airport our airline kindly gave us.A few cons:1.) )The item is bulky to carry in your bag and does not feel very sturdy so I worry about breaking it when I pack it. This is especially true as you typically are in a rush when you pack it up and really just want to throw it in you bag or pocket (a little to bulky for that).2.) I was hoping that it would fit to our chairs at home but the adaptor is not wide enough. This would keep my kid's tablet secure while in zoom classes and such. It turns out at least for us this is really only a practical item for when traveling by plane or with luggage. I could not find a good way to mount it to anything in our house besides our luggage. (Or as far as my experience so far.)

Perfect for iPads and smaller, 15” surface book 2 is a little hefty for it.
Finally got a chance to use this. Decided to go big and use my SurfaceBook 2 15” in Tablet mode. Worked well but the extra weight of it was noticeably unstable of the seat it was attached to was moved. 13”, Surface Pro, iPads, etc seem like they would be much more stable and primarily what this was designed for. I just decided to push the limits and see how big I could go.

It works...but
It works...but it doesn't do great on iPad. I fly twice a week for work. It does good for my phone, but it struggles to hold my 10.2" iPad. I purchased a different case for my iPad so that it was easier to take apart for flights. It just struggles with the weight of it. If you're wanting to just use a smartphone, I completely recommend this product.

Very fragile, cheap and unusable after a few times.
Sadly, I give this item low stars.I was excited at the prospect of having my iPad in front of me while flying. The cup holder sounded like an added bonus. Upon receiving the item, it was obvious this needed to be handled lightly as the cup holder plastics are toothpick thin. Any amount of pressure will snap the fragile sides. Then, the plastic hip that fits behind the tray table is also fragile and can easily snap with any pressure. So moving on to my first couple flights with the item. Following the directions, I excitedly setup the mount and placed the iPad into the clasps. Right away, the iPad felt "loose" even with trying to pull the bungee tight. There is no anti slip material so the device can slip and slide and get everything off center. The cup then spills if the tilt is enough and the cup is full. As others said, the tightening screws go into the plastic on the other side, which begin to give way and loosened after just my first use. When that occurs, the item is useless, as it flops and won't hold pressure, not that it did well anyway. It can easily be overtightened because it's just plastic and no rubber so you need it very tight to "hold." If there was some anti slip stuff, it would allow for less tightening, in my opinion. This seemed like a great item, but it's fragile, and complicated and missing critical materials to make it sturdy while using.I saw a review that said it should be made of metal, I agree. This plastic is way too cheap for alot of use each week and this is unusable after my second flight. The neoprene bag that is included is a better value than the Airhook 2.0.Looking forward to the 3.0.

Design needs Improvements - You can do many yourself!
I purchased one of these for a trip that I took to cross the pacific. 15 hours of airtime can get to a person. Unfortunately, my tablet died on the way to the airport which ended up working out as I am not certain that the Airhook could have completely held it.I still give this product a decent review, but beware that there are no rubber parts that will keep the plastic from slipping. I recognized this and placed 4 neoprene washers that I picked up at the local hardware store to make sure that the hinge points wouldn't move when I would tighten them down.Having said above that my tablet didn't work, I used my phone, but it kept wanting to slip to one side and fall out when we would hit turbulence. I would recommend getting some anti-skid rubber and placing it inside the hook portions that hold on to your tablet or phone. All said, great concept, I would have paid $50 for one if they made it out of metal with those improvements listed above. I still recommend one of these for long flights.

An amazing addition to my flights!
I travel ALOT for work. I am constantly traveling between our two offices or off to a training. This has been an amazing addition to my flights. It’s small, light weight and easy to use. It allows me to open up the space around my legs so I don’t have to have my friend hold ALL my stuff every time I need something out of my bag or need to head to the restroom. This clever device gives me the freedom to move around! Works well with my iPhone with an otter case (I also have the wallet on the back. I need to take my cards out of the wallet or it’s too big-it’s an easy fix. And fits my Microsoft surface perfectly as well (I don’t have a case on it fyi) and don’t have to worry about my laptop volume buttons being hit by the person in front of me when they lean back.this device is light weight and folds up small to fit back in my case. I highly recommend this product!
