Easy to install
They fit right on to my older SW model 36 (1980). Given the gun's age I wasn't sure if modern grips would be compatible but they fit like a glove. The gun is far less snappy in the hand as it used to have those really slender wooden grips.

Fits Comfortably and Improves Accuracy and Recoil
I have a Smith and Wesson 38 special +P Airweight (J-frame) model 642.The new grip fit perfectly, feels great and was super easy to install with one screw (flathead). I have chubby and sweaty hands. This grip is larger than the stock grip. It’s nicely made, and reasonably priced. My concern was never having installed a grip before. Am I buying the right one and will it fit? I did some research and, the PACHMAYR is what came up as the number one option for my weapon. I would highly recommend it.

Absolutely the best....
Absolutely the best. I've tried others - Hogue, which are okay, sometimes - and VZ, definitely not worth the money and no real difference between stock grips - on J frames and the Pachmayers are hands down the only ones I've been completely happy with. Yeah, they add an inch or a bit more to length, but don't hurt concealability unless you've been dropping a tiny J frame in your pocket. Best for function, meaning control and recoil reduction, and best for the money.

Helps grips with large hands
Love these grips. With large hands the factory grips shift in my hand. I use packmar grips on all my revolvers.

Excellent grips, too large for concealed carry.
Excellent quality but they're FULL size grips, not the like the small Hogue grips manufactured for these small revolvers. These grips would be the perfect choice if you were going to put a couple hundred rounds through your gun to " break it in." They would not be a good choice for concealed carry. I have more than one gun, so they're fine for what I need them to do.I've attached a photo so u can see these grips installed along with the original skinny wooden grips. They're installed on an old S&W Model 37 Airweight. It's a 5-shot aluminum hideout gun so these grips also add a little weight, but they feel great.

nice grips!!
finally, comfort AND good control of a small frame pistol!! original tiny wood grips eat your hand up with checkering and heavy recoil.i dont have large hands but factory grips leave nothing to hold on to. these are soft and feel excellent in your hand and help soften recoil, giving more accurate shooting. a great addition and worth EVERY penny of the price. quick and easy to install in 2 min. with a screwdriver. includes special screw. be sure to keep factory grips/screw if you want to convert the pistol back to factory. the screws will NOT interchange. they fit like a glove on the pistol and look sharp! pachmayr rocks, the ONLY WAY to go.

Great value for a great product
Have an older model Smith and Wesson .38 Special Snub nose.Grips were an old thin wood and just weren't comfortable. Those types of grips that were standard back in the day and no one complained.I decided to modernize it a little bit. Bought these grips based on a few reviews. It's a real snug fit but that's a good thing in my opinion. They are a little big for my wife, but fit my medium sized hands perfectly. I would even wager that bigger hands will find them accommodating.Shot it shortly after I put the grips on. These are the grips that should've come with the gun in the first place.
