Plastica GeoBubble Midas 500 Micron Pool Solar Cover- 10ft x 20ft Rectangular

Having researched solar covers I felt this was the best one to go for with the 500 micron thickness and two tone colours, dark blue on surface and gold reflective colour on inner surface to reflect back the heat.It can be bought in various sizes and so I needed to cut it down to the shape of the pool which was fairly easy with a pair of large kitchen scissors.So far in a very wet May '21 it seems to help raise the pool temp by about 2-4 degrees. It's also great to stop debris falling into the pool too.It's sturdy and won't easily tear when taking on or off the pool.My only 2 issues are the price as around £200 for this posh bubble wrap seems excessive. Also its tricky taking it off if you're on your own. I've figured out folding it whilst still on top of the pool works OK but some of the debris and bird poop ends up in our 18'x9' above ground pool.I'm now having to consider buying a pool cover retractor, but I imagine this would be the case for any pool cover, so not specific to this model.I've also recently purchased a heat pump so hoping this will come into its own retaining the heat when the pool warms up. Plus I understand a solar cover helps to reduce the evaporation of pool chlorine but I don't yet have any objective way to measure this.Will update here once I have the heat pump up and running.
