Worth its price
Simple and cheap. Does what it's supposed to do. I didn't really need the (way more expensive) digital display of the Nikon MC36 and this item costs about a quarter of the Nikon MC30. I just needed a trigger for astrophotography that would not require me to touch the camera. I've used it for about six months, so can't comment on its longevity yet.

works ok for the price
I bought this to use on my camera for using on a DIY book scanner. It works fine, although the lock button is very easy to accidentally push and sometimes it it hard to get it out of lock. What can you expect for the price, though? Gets the job done well enough...

Decent quality. Much cheaper than the official Nikon one.
It feels fine. I have no fear plugging it into my expensive camera. The plastic feels solid, decently built. Not as heavy duty as the Nikon gear I own, but perfectly adequate if you don't plan to use it 5 days a week in a studio.

It works, and doesn't cost a fortune like the Nikon one.
This works, and the cable is pretty long, BONUS!It was super cheap, and has been good for weeks of use. The cable is long enough for me, and its super light weight so I just carry it around all the time. The shutter button feels kinda clunky, and sometimes it slides into the lock position by accident, but I could prolly be more careful in all honesty.Just get it, its cheap.

Does Its Job
Not much to say here -- product works as advertised: half press button to focus then full press to release the shutter. Wish the cord was a little longer, but oh well, it functions, and functions well.

Very basic, hard to mess up. This does ...
Very basic, hard to mess up. This does exactly what it is suppose to do, right out of the package.

Works
works - does have a tendency to stick in the locked on position

... a remote release this is just okay and would recommend a wireless remote instead
If you want a remote release this is just okay and would recommend a wireless remote instead. This is cheaply constructed and quite difficult to use in most situations that you might want a remote release due to it being wired.
