The Chickenhead 5E3 Tweedluxe is a 12 watt all tube Class A amplifier modeled after the all time favorite Fender tweed Deluxe amp from the 1950's. The Tweedluxe features point-to-point, hand wired circuitry and classic stackable twin preamp design. The Tweedluxe sports two 12AX7 tubes in the preamp stage, a 5Y3 rectifier tube and a pair of 6V6GT's in the power stage, driving an Jensen P12Q speaker as in the original amp. The cabinet is finger jointed 7-ply hardwood, covered with authentic hand lacquered tweed with brown and gold grille and leather handle. This is the amp that wrote the book on blues guitar tone and has been used on many thousands of studio recordings, because of its great singing tone at low volumes.
