STRANGE!
I enjoyed this and cringed at the various graphic plot elements. Truely a mind blowing ending. There was brief nudity and sexual elements so it should be only for mature viewers

chilling but mesmerizing
Physically violent and mentally grotesque, this movie is chilling in that it can actually get you to understand how a person can be trapped and rendered helpless right in front of the most horrifying act taking place. As disgusted as I was by some of the scenes portrayed in this movie, I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen. Highly recommended, but keep the kids away from this stuff, please.

Not bad at all.
Subject matter was good , the sex stuff i really didn't think it helped with the plot very much , but it takes a glance into the world of man/woman serial killer teams on how they mentally function within the partnership of such acts , reminds the viewer of the famous Moors Murders or the Sweet Heart killers from the early 50's. This man who is a mild mannered and not give to violence acts himself is drawn into the plot where a single event changes his life forever. I've personally know of this from my military experience in the Iraq War , so it's content of a man pushed to the edge then over i can relate to. The swindle and kill for money is a old hat dating back to the times and turn of the century in the US as people like H.H Holmes comes to mind.I think overall besides the gore and blood , was very good and gives a look into true events that inspire the film.Seems history of the swindle/murder has reared it's head in Cold Fish.

Cold Fish Served Hot, Hot, Hot!!
Original, brutal and probably not to everyone's taste. Based partly on true events it tells the tale of a weak, timid married man who becomes involved with another man who runs a 'bigger' and 'better' tropical fish shop. Unfortunately he is a brutal man who treats women like dirt and who makes men who get in his way 'invisible'. You are just waiting for the lead character to grow a backbone, as you know he must, and boy, when it happens it goes beyond what you probably expect. Yes there is a fair bit of gore and violence but it is not all against women - there are a few men involved too! A terrific film that somehow I think only Japan can come up with. Highly recommended but only to those who have a strong stomach. Definitely not for the faint-hearted.

The dimwitted child of an unholy threesome between Ed Gein and Bonnie and Clyde. A Frankenstein monster of multiple genres, held together with semen and vaginal juices, looking to shock the angry villagers into submission - Cold Fish (Japanese flavoured Breaking Bad)

Brutal, disturbing, raw filmaking.
Great movie based on a true story. Fantastic performances throughout, and great direction from Shion Sono. However be warned, this film is very brutal and disturbing in places and doesn't hold back with some of its violent scenes, especially against women. The Blu-Ray picture is mostly decent, but does suffer during the night sequences.Overall I recommend this movie - it is powerful, raw filmaking at its best.

Intriguing and Interesting
Cold fish -A disturbing film from Japan witha sense of crime thriller around it.In the film there was gore and bloodbut that is now part of many thriller typefilms nowadays, it provided an emphasisto the story.I considered 4 star for Cold Fish becauseits an out of the ordinary film with a greatcast.A definitive film for those late night'swith tons of pop corn.
