Great toy for our pup!
We have a very active, always-chewing puppy, so we are constantly on the lookout for new, safe toys for her. This Crinkits was an almost instant hit! I say almost because we don't use water bottles and I had to beg one from a friend. Thankfully, I read the instructions before trying to insert the water bottle! With a bit of dish soap and some warm water, followed by a good rinse, it was a piece of cake! Our pup chews the middle, loving the crinkly noise, and also the ends, and there are no signs of destruction. She tosses it, jumps on it, attacks it, rolls on it, and not a scratch. I worried, as always, about the quality of the toy, wondering if it would hold up or be torn to shreds in minutes, but it has proven to be a safe toy for our girl. We inspect every toy, every day, removing any that show signs of wear, but the Crinkits looks like it will be with us for a very long time.Update: it's been nearly 5 years and this toy is still going strong! A couple years ago, we added a rescue Golden Retreiver mix, and for a year and a half, he chewed everything that he could wrap his teeth around. Anything stuffed lasted less than 5 minutes, so we bought only toys rated for "heavy-chewers" but the ONLY ones that survived his dedicated destruction are the Crinkit and a toy designed for horses! A truly exceptional toy!

10 minutes of fun, then choke hazard
[Edit: First review = 1 star because of choke hazard] It took my puppy about 10 minutes to chew several chunks off the end of this toy. She had a cheaper $5 version (from another company) that she loved but it lasted only about a week. The description for the Crinkits brand water bottle toy says, "We recommend it for dogs that are tough on toys", so I thought that I was paying more for a better quality toy. [Edit: They have now updated their product description to read "dogs that are tough on toys, but are not aggressive chewers." That was NOT there when I bought this toy and I would not have bought it had that disclaimer been in place.] I am very, very disappointed. The picture shows the pieces that I was able to collect from the rug. The other pieces were ingested. Our pup was not left unattended. She was on the rug next to me while I was reading. That is how fast and easy it was for her to destroy this toy. She was crinkle-crunching it and then I heard gagging noise and boom ... less than 10 minutes after I gave her the toy, she had torn off several chunks and had a piece in her throat. It is impossible to contact Etailz. They sent me an email saying that if I liked the toy, please give them a positive review. If I had any problems, please call their toll free number. The toll free number rolls over to voice mail, so good luck with that.Edit [updated to reflect its new use a a fetch toy and the fact that the product description now states that it is not good for aggressive chewers]: Because our dog really loves the crinkle sound of water bottles, but I don't trust her with the bottle itself, we adapted this toy to make it less of a choke hazard. We cut off the overhanging rim on each end (too tempting to chew on) and now use this solely as a fetch toy stuffed with a water bottle. We throw it. She returns it, crunch-crunch-crunching all the way. She turns it over and we throw it again for her. It is a good weight for throwing and is safer on her mouth than a hard stick.

Vodka & bacon grease does the job?
Frustrating! I was excited to find these for my dogs. I have two female pit bulls that love to chew on empty water bottles so this seemed to be a great solution to the bottle lasting more than 30 seconds.First off it's not easy getting the bottle inside. I'll admit the first try was with a vitamin water bottle which is thicker than most. After drinking the grapefruit flavor water with a dbl shot of vodka, yum! I gave it a try. No luck. I added soap to the bottle and it worked after lots of swearing. The bottle was too thick to make any noise, now I have to get the damn thing back out! Another dbl shot down I tried it again. This time with a Trader Joe's bottle which is thin! After adding soap it went in much easier! Yay! It squeaks! After rinsing off the soap and draining the water I threw them to the girls. Neither dog will put these bottled in their mouth. Is it the smell of soap, rubber? WTH?Next try I went outside rubbed bacon grease on the outside and gave them a toss in the air. The girls picked them up licked them off and left them.Being determined and slightly buzzed I still going at it...

He has not been able to shred it despite his best attempts. I won't repeat what everyone else has ...
My 11.5 year old, 65 lb., very high energy lab, loves the toy. He has not been able to shred it despite his best attempts. I won't repeat what everyone else has said with a 5* rating but wanted to add a couple of things.I have an old squeaker from a previous toy that Duke destroyed in 5 minutes. I folded it and slipped it into the water bottle and now he has a crinkly squeaky toy, which makes it even more exciting. I also followed the manufacturers suggestion of a little soap on the bottle and it slips in or out easily. The original bottle it came with slipped out the first day but I put another in without any difficulty and it has remained in place over the past several days.I never imagined I would find a toy this dog loved so much and did not ruin in 5-10 minutes.

Destroyed in under 10 minutes.
My lab is a powerful chewer. Thinking this Crinkits was Kong quality rubber (it's not) I purchased it for him since he loves the stuffed animal water bottle holders that crink and crack when he bites into them (he can get through those in 30 seconds). I jammed a water bottle with relative ease into it but immediately my dog knew where the weak spot was on this toy and focused in on the hole where you insert the water bottle. He didn't relent and was more entertained by the surprisingly stretchy rubber it's made of rather than the cracking sound of the water bottle.Extremely disappointed - dog swallowed a few chunks of it. Would NOT recommend.Link to the photograph here: [...] - just 7 minutes of playing with it!!!!
