Siloxa-Tek 8505 Ultra Concentrate (1 Gallon Makes 4 GALLONS) - Penetrating Concrete Sealer, Water, Salt & Oil Repellent

Never sealed anything before but just had a new concrete driveway poured and wanted to protect against salts over the winter. The 8505 was easy to apply, I used a standard 2 gallon garden sprayer with a flat spray nozzle setting and a cheap plastic mixing bucket with measurements on the side. It went on evenly, dried quick (2nd coat goes on almost as soon as first coat is done in an area, within minutes), and is already very very water resistant. I haven’t seen it protect against salt, but all claims so far have been 100% spot on. Driveway didn’t change appearance at all after it dried either. I highly recommend! (And customer service is incredible)

Love how easy it was to apply with a good sprayer (not a lawn sprayer, good brass tip sprayed a nice fan pattern). It was pricey but seems to work extremely well so far. I am going to spray a small pad next to my driveway with a product that is similar but 1/2 the price then I will know in a few years if Ghost shield was worth the price but so far the performance is outstanding! Pressure washed and cleaned with a mild Muriatic acid first then neutralizer. Product soaked in well and does what it says, so far so good.

I wanted sealer that would be stain resistant around the pool. Easy to apply. I mixed and applied per the directions. It looks good after it was dry. But when it gets wet the water beads as it should, but forms a dark spot underneath in the concrete. It’s been over a week and still looks bad when it gets water on it. You can see my footprints, spots from leaves, or anything that gets water on the concrete that won’t go away until the concrete drys. Even if you wipe up the water the dark stain stays. In the photos you can see where concrete was sealed next to unsealed and see big difference.Looks bad and I’m very disappointed. Especially since I spent so much money.

Liked how easy it was to apply with a sprayer. Dabbed areas where there was excess. Instructions were easy to follow. Applied to garage floor, back patio, and driveway.After application, it rained a few days later. At first glance it looked like it wasn't working and upon a closer look you could see the water beading off, as advertised and from photos other reviews have posted.As pricy as it is, keep in mind it's concentrate and actually makes 5 gallons worth.

I used this product to coat a 20x22' garage with a new floor. The concrete was poured 2 months ago and was hand finished by trowel so it is fairly smooth. I ended up mixing the concentrate plus 4 gallons of distilled water in a 5 gallon bucket and then poured into a one gallon hand pump sprayer (one gallon at a time). I sprayed in sections one coat followed by one coat and then would stand aside and roll with a 3/8" nap roller on a pole extension to smooth out any puddles. The spray goes on quick. The liquid mix is about the consistency of whole milk and is also white. It smells basically like interior house paint and has about the same potency to the 'smell'. I walked on the first coat some to spray the second. I ended up using about 2.5 gallons total for the garage so it went further than expected. I used the extra outside on the walk and upper driveway (which was old, existing concrete). The floor was slightly tacky the next morning and we stayed off the floor with both foot and vehicle traffic for 24 hours. The tackiness is basically all gone 3 days after install. The photos show the results 3 days after install. On the rougher finish driveway shots the coating stops at the driveway cut line and you can see the coated left / non coated right difference. Water pools up and runs off the drive so fast its almost hard to get a photo of the pooling.

Had my 2 year old poured concrete, power scrubbed and power washed a day prior to using this sealer. I did a lot of calculating on how much to use and how many square feet to apply the first coat, then the second coat. I used a battery powered sprayer and it all worked out so easy and so well, I was very pleased the way it easily went on and since the day being so perfect in applying it, I could see it seep in and start to dry. I really like this product. I did let it cure for the 24 hour period recommended. Thinking to let it cure a little longer, I did do some watering of grass, some of the water from the sprinkler hit the edge of the driveway, seeing it already sit on top in little puddles.

I have a long driveway and used the Siloxa Tek 8505 near my house where I park the car since it has stain guard properties. I used the 8500 on the rest of the driveway to save money. Despite both products claiming to dry perfectly clear with no change in appearance of the concrete, the 8505 turned my driveway yellow-brown. So, I now have a half dirty looking and half white/clean driveway. I was very upset at this result. The good news is that when I contacted Ghostshield about this problem, they were terrific and talked me through my options for resolution. Very responsive and helpful. Lots of respect for Ghostshield but I will not use the 8505 again. The 8500 turned out fantastic, drying perfectly clear/natural and having amazing water blocking properties.Update Oct 2020: Ghostshield Service was very responsive and sent me a product they said would remove the 8505 from the driveway and restore the natural color. They also sent replacement 8500. Using the remover/cleaner as they directed twice, nothing has changed. The driveway still looks bad and not protecting. Although the customer service has been very responsive, I am very frustrated. I have lost many hours of work time trying to resolve this problem and also now have what appears to be permanent damage to my driveway. Cannot recommend.

I sprayed the 8505 sealant on my driveway and back porch - it was repellent almost immediately and it looks like there’s nothing on the concrete! So far very happy with the product.
