Universal Sunshade Rainshade Camera Cover Shield for Outdoor Nest/Nest IQ Camera - White

Made well keeps my security cameras shielded from rain and sun, very pleased with this product.

My new security camera stuck out just a little past the gutter, so when it rained I would get notifications from the rain dripping across the lens. This rain shade gives it just the protection it needed. Very easy to install.

Good quality sunshade. Thick and durable. Reminds me of a construction workers hard hat.I spray painted the underside black to absorb light reflection. Works well.

Update after install: As noted, I simply used the vinyl siding clip (1) to mount. If it needs more when it's windy, I can add. I also painted the inside flat black and the outside to roughly match my siding. See new pic below. I am now buying another for camera over the patio.Initial Review: These are bigger than I thought, but my current cameras are pretty small, Eufy 2C. No problem, they will still work when/if I upgrade to bigger camera. I already know I'll have to paint inside a flat black, and I intend to paint the outside almond to match my siding, so I'm not even mounting until I do that. Also, I intend to mount using 3 siding clips, so I will have to drill 2 new holes to line up with my vinyl siding slats.

Ok, so I modified this a bit as it had to be mobile, not mounted. What I needed was something to cover my streaming device from the sun, so we drilled the holes a little wider and attached carabiners to the three holes. Now, while I am streaming my daughters softball games I have this to protect my device from the sun/elements :)

Used this camera cover shield for Nest outdoor cam on the siding.Seems to be working fine.I worried that red night vision lights may be reflected on the cover but I have not had that issue when the camera is facing downward.Sometimes wind noises were recorded when tree leaves did not move. So I turned off microphone. I am not sure whether this is related to the cover but the air flow between the cover and camera may be recorded.

I purchased four of these for my cabin on a remote cattle ranch in Idaho. Lots of rain in the Spring and snow in the winter The Nest iQ outdoor cameras are mounted on utility poles and needed some protection. The shades need a flat surface to mount on so I put them on a back board and then mounted the backboards on the poles. The first night I noticed a problem. The hoods I bought are white and for some reason they mess with the night vision of the cameras. Without the hoods, night vision is fine; with the hoods everything looks like there is a heavy fog when viewing the camera stream. The only thing I could thinK of was the white reflects light onto the lens. I removed the hoods and painted them flat black. Now nighT vision woks again. Go figure. So anyways, they work otherwise and are built well. The first rain storm proved their worth; the lens did not get all splattered with rain.

Great Product. Easy to install. Comes with a rubber gasket to keep out rain. Shield is the perfect size and shape to fit Night Owl security cameras. You can adjust the angle and placement of the shield to fit your exact need and camera angle. I highly recommend.
