Turkish Delight The sweet and tender, sugar-dusted delicacy of Turkish Delight has a long and illustrious history. At first it was only the food of royalty: Legend has it that the sweet was first created when the Sultan insisted that his chefs come up with a confection so novel and delicious that it would silence the endless bickering of the wives in his harem. So successful were they that "Lokum", as it was then called, swiftly gained cult status. Gifts of lokum wrapped in lace handkerchiefs were exchanged as love tokens and the melt-in-the-mouth sweet was found on every table in Turkey. Eventually in the 19th century a British traveller brought the confection back home with him, naming it "Turkish Delight" and it rapidly became as popular in Western Europe as it had been in the Sultan's court. We looked for the perfect balance of firmness to stickiness and sought out craftsmen who still used traditional production methods. At the same time looking out for innovative flavours to delight the modern palate. No range of Turkish Delight would be complete without the most traditional varieties, so you will find here the delicate flavours of lemon and rose, and the exotic taste of pistachio (a favourite of Winston Churchill and Napoleon!). Turkish delight makes a delicious alternative to chocolates with after dinner coffee but is just as good served with a cup of espresso in the morning. For a taste of something really exotic, try it with a small cup of mint tea.

Absolutely delicious
My mum loves turkish delight and after seeing this luxury turkish delight, I decided to get it as a present. I am extremely happy with my purchase as this turkish delight is absolutely delicious. There is also a lot of turkish delight for the money. I went for the Pistachio and Pomegranate coated with safflower and it really is incredible. The pistachios are lovely, the pomegranate flavour turkish delight has a lovely lingering flavour and the safflower is delicious and rather unique in flavour.For anyone who likes turkish delight, this is a must try.

Look amazing and taste ok
I had really delicious pomegranate turkish delight at Christmas from Morrisons and was looking for something similar. These look good with the flower coating, but aren't as soft as other turkish delight I've had. They use flavouring rather than actual pomegranate juice, so the flavour is pretty bland. A couple of pieces had bits of pistachio shell in them, which meant I had my guard up eating the others! It's also pretty dodgy that the headline claims they are low sugar - they are of course made almost entirely of sugar!

Very tasty if you love sweet and pistachio
I love pistachios and when I saw them I decided to order them, they are pretty sweet, and I mean it in a nice way.The flavour is pretty much just right there hitting the spot.I love sweets but this one if I have one cube is enough for me which is a great thing because the will last longer and more people in parties.

I must say, I really liked these Turkish delights, they are smaller, less sweet and much more delicate than what you normally get in the shops.I am looking forward to try few different flavours :)
