Was my wife's favorite book and now my daughter's favorite

Very cute book!

The story of a little girl who wants to go out and play in the snow but first must find her red boots. The illustrations are much too busy for a group story time, and I didn't particularly care for the ending. If you're in a pinch for a book to go with a theme of "red", this will work.

Holly was peering out the window with her little striped cat Jasper, looking at the snowflakes coming down. She asked her mom if they could go out and play, but her mom said she couldn't go out in her slippers. Holly thought her smiley green slippers were fine to go outside with, but her mother didn't think so and told her she would have to "wear her red boots." Now the only thing she had to do was find them. She would have to be quick before the snow melted!She looked under the table and found her red car. Now she could go out in the car and keep her feet dry. She wouldn't get her feet wet. "Silly billy! That won't keep your feet dry!" Her mother laughed and chuckled and Holly would just have to keep looking. She and her little striped cat found all kinds of red things, everything but those red boots. Over and under and all about the search went on. In the dresser, in the fridge, behind the planter, in the dryer . . . no red boots! Would she find them in time to go out and play in the snow?This charming book with its colorful illustrations is delightful and will attract parents and grandparents who have a little "silly billy" with a big imagination to cuddle and read with. Additionally this book would be a fun one to read aloud during circle time. Do you always put your things where they belong?

We got this book out of the library and my 2 1/2 year old fell in love with it! We had to renew it multiple times, and she asked for me to read it to her as soon as we returned home after having returned it to the library. Wonderful illustrations, familiar situations, a lovely rhythm and flow. Neither too short nor too long. A sweet, special book!
