I do use the trays which are okay. Think they're pretty cheap, just cardboard with a slick coating. They'd be better if they had "curbs" on three sides, as the pieces slide off pretty easily if the tray is tipped. I think it's fine to have at least one side without a "curb" because it's good to be able to slide off pieces which have already been put together. I'm glad I got them, but can't give them 5 stars.

This is an awesome product for those who like to do puzzles. It helps me keep puzzle pieces sorted and organized for whatever part of the puzzle I am working on. The trays keep puzzle pieces from being all crazy around the puzzle. When a section is done on a tray it slides off the tray nicely to attach to the rest of the puzzle.

Bought these for my Mom and she loves them.

These boards changed the way I start working on puzzles -- sorting really decreases the time a person looks for a particular piece.

These are super chintzy, just flimsy cardboard. They were warped right out of the original packaging. I could have made these out of old cardboard boxes. Way overpriced. I plan to send them back.
