Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery

We LOVE these albums! We got them all in mp3 format and put them on a usb for car rides to and from classes for my kids. We homeschool and take some classes locally, so we do spend time in the car and thought this would be an enriching listen. It is so much more than I expected! The stories are wonderful. Each uses a slightly different style like the Tchaikovsky is an action filled radio play that feels like you are watching a movie with your ears. The Beethoven albums is a young boy reading real letters he wrote to his uncle (and his uncle responding) while Beethoven was renting a flat within his families home and it is very well done. Some are like listening to a play as it's being acted out and others, like Bach are like a dream sequence of a girl being visited by Bach because she loathes practicing piano so much and Bach encourages her and tell her his story.No matter the style, they are well done and my kids adore them. They spur on a ton of inquiry and conversation. I am pretty sure my kids know more about famous historical composers than most adults. I also love listening. I have learned so much from Bach's imprisonment for standing against a tyrant to Beethoven's odd tendencies that had everything to do with his childhood and his lack of hearing. All the while the music of each composer is expertly crafted into the story. I give these all an A+.

I bought this 35 years ago and my children listened to it over and over. Now I'm playing it for my grandsons and love the look of engagement on their faces as they listen to the story.

My 8 year old enjoys listening to the storyline. It was recommended to us by my daughter's piano teacher. She is now working on a school project where they need to prepare a piece on work on one of the famous composers. She has chosen Beethoven and I recently purchased Beethoven's CD from the same series. Good product, helps kids to learn insights about composers as well as identify their music.Unfortunately, this Vivaldi one arrived in a broken case, so extra care is required for delivery.

I used to listen to this story (and others) on cassette tape as a child.... i fell in love with Vivaldi, Violins, and Venice because of this story. I was so freaking excited to see they had this (and the others) on CD. Anytime I'm having a bad day, I turn this on and everything seems better. love love LOVE this.

I previously owned this on audio tape and used to play it on long car trips for my grandchildren. I bought the CD as a Christmas present for my youngest granddaughter, who is taking both piano and cello lessons for Christmas. I'm sure she will enjoy listening to the story and the music in the long drives to my house.

I loved listening to the tape version of this when I was a child. My father bought the whole series for me and my brother and sister, and we would all lie in bed listening to it before going to sleep at night. I love the stories and the music, it is all put together so well. I bought the CD for my own daughter to listen to and I hope she will grow up with a good appreciation of music history and classical music as well.

We have 5 of the Classical Kids CDs, and this one is our favorite. The story is compelling and mysterious and my daughter and kids in the carpool are mesmerized when we listen to it. The music is beautiful and they never grow tired of hearing it over and over. Even the adults in the car (including myself) love the story. You won't regret getting it!

This is a wonderful CD to introduce children to classical music. I have purchased four different composers/stories of this line of CDs, and my grandson truly loves them. And,.... as my son is an elementary music teacher, I just purchased the Vivaldi CD for his birthday to listen in his car and to have his students listen to!!! Many thanks!!!

Arrived promptly; very enjoyable story, with plenty of Vivaldi's music. I bought it for my grandchildren, aged 9 and 10, and I think they will enjoy it.
