this small motion light has worked out great. It is very bright for such a small unit. We installed it easily with a nail on the exterior top of our duplex on the wood frame with no problem. It really does a fantastic job. We had no light outside in our area where we park our car but now it is easily lit and the motion sensor is great for security too! For the price it does a mighty job!!! very happy with it

Love it. It arrived a few days ago and we installed them early this evening before it got dark. It took perhaps two to three minutes to install each one. They are well made and seem very sturdy. Installing them is easy. Just two screws. Once you put the lower screw in place the top screw aligns easily and secures the unit in place. You will need a screwdriver of some kind, though you could also use sticky pads, though I personally prefer using the screws which are provided. You have to switch the units on before they will work. I wondered how easy it might be to switch them on and to know they were switched on. They provide a small tool to insert into the hole they have created for enable the switch. However, once you depress this switch the light comes on for about 10 seconds so it is very obvious the unit is now working. I purchased three of them. The reviews helped tremendously in making my decision as there are a lot of makes and models to choose from. My wife and I went out side to check how well they worked just a few minutes ago; it wasn't totally dark, but the dim light, which works all through the night, was operating just fine at each location. It is enough to lead you to where the light is located if it is totally dark. Once you are within about 10 - 13 feet the much brighter light comes on. This is not like a high wattage halogen light, but it is bright, certainly bright enough to see the entire area around the light and to easily see your keys and keyholes etc. Other than that it arrived very quickly and everything was in order. Bottom line I am very please. I located one light in an area where direct sunlight will only occur for a few hours in the morning, so it will be interesting to see how well that light performs. If there are problems I will add to this review.

I ordered and received two of these motion sensing outdoor lights. I like them a lot, and they work well. With each unit is provided two screws and two wall anchors, plus 1 pin to activate the on/off switch of the unit. You use the pin initially only to turn the unit on from its factory setting of "off". There's a small little hole in front of the unit (clearly visible and marked), where this pin is used. I activated the units using the pin, and then left them in the sun for a day to charge. In the evening (when it is dark), if no motion is detected within its range, the units stay lit up in a very dim mode (like a night light) - so you know they are there. When motion is detected within about 15 feet, they light up brightly. The unit lights up about a 15-20 foot circle around the light, if placed at an appropriate height (about 7-8 feet). I placed one along the driveway on the wall of the house, so anyone coming up the driveway is lit up. The other one is above the side door of the detached garage.So far, after about 4 days of use, they are still working well. A really good purchase, and well worth the price. You will need a drill and screw driver to install the anchors and screws into the exterior walls.

A nice product and great customer service! Mine failed 3 days into a 2 month camping trip and they offered to send a replacement direct to me wherever I could pick it up.The light is very bright and the motion detector is really sensitive.Three weird design issues I have with this product are:1. There isn't an on/off switch (it has a tiny hole that requires use of straightened paper clip to turn on/off} The package includes a tiny poker to use for this purpose but a simple switch would be friendlier to use. Attaching the unit to the exterior of my truck camper requires me to find/use the little wire poker to turn it off completely before I drive after dark which is pretty annoying,2. The light comes on in "dim" mode as soon as the light level drops past a certain point, then comes on really bright when motion is detected. I would have preferred the light to be fully off until motion was detected to save battery life & keep my campsite darker...3. If the light had a 3-way switch (totally off, dim or bright upon motion) it would have gotten 5 stars!

After 1 year: deadInstallation was easy and straightforward as one might expect. Placement was done to ensure maximum direct sunlight per day: A SE exposure on my deck fascia board.Worked initially, but would only work for a few hours after sunset. After about 3 weeks would not come on at all some evenings. After about 6 months only came on rarely. After one year, dead.Sensor was cleaned (gently), as were photocells. Several times, in an effort to extend life. Both units behaved similarly - working out of the box, then gradually becoming useless over time.I'm replacing with a hardwired low-voltage LED system.

Update Sept 2019: STILL going strong! Exterior showing obvious signs of wearbit solar cells are still working fine.I bought a few of these in 2015. Just thought I would write a review now! I was in my back yard just now and it dawned on me that I have not put batteries in these things since I bought them! They are still working fine. They do not throw a huge amount of light, but they are good for pathway lighting. I am impressed that I have had to do NOTHING with these things since buying them, as often many of these lights turn out to be short-lived gimmicks. This one however has proven to be a reliable source of lighting!

Tiny package great quality. I bought this and the 6 led model a different brand, both where the same cost. When looking at the unit you would think the 6 led would be better, but no this 4 led had a better light. The light is just as bright and not quite as white. Works flawlessly, boom soon as you hit the sensor you get great illumination. Never wire a motion light again!
