Wonderful insights into history of Irish music and Van
Really enjoying this book. Very little thank goodness abt Van Morrison's personality (who cares, love his music!) and lots of insight into the development of his style and Ireland's music and history. Gives alot of information abt his bands and the musicans he collaborated with, both song writers and instrumentalists.

Great perspective on Van & Northern Ireland
I learned SO much about the history of Northern Ireland from this. Also a great, fairly objective view of Van; some warts, loads of genius. Highly recommend.

a comprehensive look @ the land of Van. wonderful insights and review of the political history of his youth. Nice to know how some of the songs fermented in the being of the boy and helped develop the "MAN". A required read for Vanites!

David Burke's work here must rate as the finest treatise on Northern Ireland
I can understand Van's Ire when 'a new biography' comes out on Van Morrison - this is not one of these! This book is what I have been waiting for for years. David Burke's work here must rate as the finest treatise on Northern Ireland, Belfast, Irish Inspired Music from the 50's onward & how the Master Poet, Musician, with the Voice that outguns all others - Van Morrison, has shaped his homeland while doing so has brought all his fans 'A Sense of Wonder'. I could not put this book down until I had read the 270 pages. Not to be missed.
