I bought these for my. 300 gal garden pond. Packing did its job, none were cracked or broken. I’ve tried various types of media. Like this style the best: it’s large surface is easy to pack /organize in my bio filter, theses tons of surface area for the bio bugs to take up residence, can be broken to fit if needed. I’ll never buy the little style media again. Decent price for the quality. Highly recommend

All I can say is this is a good product and a great co to work with. Because when I want to include the only reason why there was a few pieces were broken My comment keeps getting denied. So you can’t read it. So now the reviews are exactly what they want you to see. Again productcand co is great. Will buy from them again.

Bought these bio bricks for a custom 40 gallon sump that I was building wanted something that was easy to install and clean great value for the money buying in bulk definitely had more than I needed. The bricks are very functional and easy to stack instead of other types of media.

I use these in my pond filter. I don’t think they did very good so I had to take them out

I had been struggling building the biological media in my DIY trickle filter for my koi pond. After adding these blocks it went very quickly. They are amazing!

Can I write a negative star review?Buy these if you want your fish to die!Have a 120g planted tank. Bought these to eventually replace my K1 bio filter media. Added the bricks to my sump vertically for max water flow to start building bacteria. Within 24 hours, I had a massive die off of fish. Lost about 20% of my population the second night they were in the tank, then every night, lost more fish. After a week, I had lost about 50% of my fish population. None of my fish showed any signs prior to adding these bricks. Did 20% water changes every other day while the bricks were in the sump, nothing helped. All my parameters tested perfect. After a week, I removed the bricks, did a 50% water change, and that stopped the die off. Have only lost 2 fish since I removed them 2ish months ago. I emailed the company, and never got a reply, not surprised.I will never buy another Hygger product again.

I got 1 box, and then a 2nd, no bricks were broken, the second had slightly different packing not that it seemed to matter.They stack well and work, on end, or flat. They are a little more than 4x as long than wide, I put over 50 on end, under my sump filter box, and then set some on edge/flat in front to keep the others standing. my thought is the water entering the sump will flow into the holes and around the edges of the upright ones for maximum penetration and bacterial filtering. Though ceramic/brick they are light weight, and a strong current can push them, especially if trying to stand them on end. Properly set up, they are stable and stay in place.I also got some of the round ones , they compliment each other, a touch wider and stack differently, both are the same length, I have more of these (the square/rectangular) in my sump.

Bought these for my small goldfish pond. I had always used media similar to these in my aquariums and they worked great. Managed to fit 36 of them into my gravity filter, beneath the washable filter mat. The remaining 4 went into the upper part of my small waterfall. Now we just wait for the beneficial bacteria to establish itself. Very porous and great size. Easily broken into smaller pieces to fit random small crevices (Such as my round gravity filter). All 40 arrived in perfect condition, not 1 was broken.
