SWFR2S is a fantastic knife
I recently purchased the Smith & Wesson SWFR2S folding knife, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! The 8-inch high carbon stainless steel blade is both durable and sharp, making it perfect for everyday tasks and outdoor adventures. The blade opens smoothly with a reliable thumb stud, and the liner lock mechanism ensures safety during use.The handle offers a comfortable grip, even in wet conditions, thanks to its textured finish. I appreciate the lightweight design, which makes it easy to carry in my pocket or backpack. Plus, the sleek, tactical look is a bonus!

replacing a broken Kershaw folder
Just got this today. So far, I am impressed with this item.Blade came relatively sharp (no blade is ever perfect out of the package), but I have not sharpened it yet. I will use it and abuse it for a while before doing that.I usually carry a Kershaw folder, but after a few 'high velocity' impacts with the garage floor, from about waist level, the tip had broken off twice, making it a really nice flat head folding screwdriver. This blade looks well made, and hopefully the tanto edge will help if I happen to drop it.I picked this up , due to its size, the glass breaker and seatbelt cutter. I already used the seatbelt cutter to cut through a few old backpack straps, just for test purposes. I found that a straight slice is not the way to go, you sort of have to 'wiggle' it left and right to get a quick cut. perhaps with enough tension, like a locked seatbelt, this may not be the case.I asked my brother in law if I could test the glass breaker on his car, he did not allow me to. (Good thing I asked first huh...)Much like other reviews, the black really nice, and the opening is a little 'tight', but that will loosen up with time and use.I am not an emt or police officer, I am in the IT field, so this blade will mainly just open boxes, and be used to pry covers off printers, etc. I always carry a knife (unless at the airport or other place where it is not allowed), because you never know what is going to happen. I like the options of cutting seatbelts, and breaking glass, and for the price, this is a great little product!***update 10/4/2012Having carried this knife for a few months now, I really like it. Every few weeks or so, since I mainly use it on boxes and tape, I swipe it through my sharpener to keep it 'topped off'. The action is still crisp, and locks into place nicely, and it opens quite smooth. I am really happy with this knife, and have suggested it to friends.on a side note, it is not a 'small' knife, it has a good handle, that when folded, allows a sold grip for using the glass breaker. I think if I ever have to use that feature, the handle would provide a great grip.

Very handy
Sadly, I lost this knife on a recent remodeling job. It is however a handy tool, as much as a self-defense knife. I used the blade to open boxes, cut fishing line, the seatbelt cutter also works well for fishing line. I kept it in my truck's dashboard, but we were out in the mountains working on a house and I've misplaced it either inside the house or outside the house. It's a 2 hour drive from where I live so I'm just going to buy myself a replacement. The pros of this knife include:Small, pocket size, not heavy.Serrated blade section is much handier than you'll realize until you've used it. I'll list a few things I've used it for below.Has the hopefully never needed window breaker on the end and a seatbelt cutter that has multiple uses.Comes with an integrated belt clip. The only real con is the blade is painted and the paint does chip and scratch pretty much right from the first time you use it.Several uses I've used it for:Door frames in older houses are often slightly warped and/or don't fit a new door right. I've used the serrated part of the blade to carve out 1/4" to 1/2" pieces of the frames to make the door fit properly.Cutting fishing line. Fishing is a hobby that I don't get to do enough, but this knife went with me every time I went fishing over the last few months. It cuts through even the thickest of fishing lines.Any wood fitting we do in older houses can be carved, whittled, to fit newer parts with the serrated blade. I've even used it on the classic 1 3/4" oak doors that are the doors people say, "They don't make 'em like that anymore" about. The glass breaker can be used for other things besides car windows:Old windows that are stuck can be struck with the glass breaker to loosen the glass or even shatter it.The only tool I know of that's as handy as one of these knives is a 5 in 1 painter's tool or a good multitool like the Leatherman Skeletool. Throw in the cheap price and you'll understand why this is an excellent buy.

Great Duty Knife
For my line of work, I'm rather picky about the duty knives that I keep on my person at all times. For starters, I'm a fan of its weight. It's a little on the heavier side but seems well built and durable. The seat belt cutter and window breaking feature I've not yet used, but I can foresee it becoming handy for fellow LEOs. The blade is sharp and does have a serrated edge on the lower end. Both ends are sharp and perform well. Compared to the others of my collection, the rubber grip is nice, and the knife itself is compact and concealable even on smaller body builds. I personally like the appearance and quality. With that being said, it's not the easiest to open and I'm hoping that it will loosen up with time.Pros:- Quality material- Rubber Grip / Ergonomic- Slim / Compact- Serrated blade- Seat belt cutter & window breaking toolsCons:- ease of opening
