Better than I had hoped!
Just received my HORI Pro 4 KAI, and I love it. Things to note however for potential buyers.1.) It ships in it's original box that says exactly what it is on it, along PS3/PS4, so if you live in a high crime area, be wary of where you ship it. Deliveries here simply sit out on the front step for all to see, thankfully I was here to receive it.2.) I noticed immediately that my package had been opened prior to me receiving it. In the photo, you can see the stickers are replaced, and the inside packaging was untaped. I suspect that because it's so large, and contains lots of wires, it was probably flagged by x-ray and inspected, but the item is in perfect condition. So don't panic if you see this happen to yours as well.First impressions: It's plug and play, and works great. Case has rubber pads on the bottom so it doesn't scoot around on your lap or tabletop, and the buttons are loose, but responsive. The case itself is large, much larger than anticipated, but that's not a bad thing at all. It's wide enough to cover my whole forearm, and I'm 6 tall'+ a few. Sits very well on your lap, not uncomfortable at all. Not a ton of palm room on this model, but I find that the base of my palm rests on the bezel quite comfortably, and I have fairly large hands. After a few hours of play, there is no discomfort or cramping, and I'm very pleased with it.If I had to pick one bad thing (and it's minor) it's that the stick itself is so bland. It's black on black, with white trims around the buttons. However, this is easily changeable, and I most likely will be changing the artwork in time.I'm immensely pleased with my purchase, and this stick is a wonderful addition to my cabinet. Beats out the more expensive branded sticks like Madcatz and the TE line, if you're on the fence, this won't let you down.

A must for fighting games!
This controller allows you to relive the arcade days. The best controller for any fighting game. Cost was very reasonable for a high quality product.

Excellent Entry-Level Stick - Good Price Point
Needing to upgrade from my old X-Arcade stick, the Hori RAP4 fit my budget and needs. While the X-Arcade is frowned upon by many, it lasted me many years and was an incredibly-solid arcade stick. Growing up in the '90s and playing Street Fighter made me particular, but not as picky as the pros are now. I'll never be capable of playing at the tournament level but still need something that's not a game pad. Certainly many potential buyers of a stick like this are in the same boat. Tournament-level players may have a different review of this product. The RAP4 is a great stick that has some weight to it. It's comfortable, durable and spacious. The cable compartment is simple to access, the stick is responsive and high enough to fit my average-sized hands and both my PS3 and PS4 recognize the unit with no problems. Those are the basics and, really, any stick without such rudimentaries isn't worth your time.It also features auto-fire capabilities, which I've never had any interest in using and it can be programmed (three buttons) in case you need to switch things around a bit. Those smaller perks are nice to have, even if they're not used much. The real question then is the button quality and I am satisfied, but not enamored. They are responsive but 'good' is the only praise I could give them. The buttons are outrageously sensitive, sometimes registering a push with only the most meager of touches. They don't have a clear-cut 'click', but have given me absolutely zero problems after several hours of Ultra Street Fighter IV (SFV is up next!) The eight face buttons are good enough but I will likely swap them out. The Options button is smaller and of lesser quality than the main buttons. It has a very low-end feel to it as do the entire set of buttons on the right side. However, you don't need those to be great quality as you won't be utilizing those as much.Modding this stick appears to be rather basic though swapping out the artwork doesn't seem possible. I'm satisfied with the customizability of the buttons and knew beforehand about the artwork.Overall this was a must-buy, as fighting games with a d-pad truly is a tragedy. While the quality is representative of the price point, my gripes were really more superficial and nit-picky. That's OK, particularly due to the cost. This is not a five-star product, but it serves its purpose well and is by no means a cheap second-rate fightstick. I'll be using this for a long time to come and would recommend it for anybody looking for an entry-level stick or for those who are not aiming to compete in tournaments.
