Simply Ample SA1405 300-watt Personal Blender with 2 Travel Sport Bottles, Blue

UPDATE: as of December 7th 2015 the blender has run its course. It began to leak or melt while blending my usual banana and shake, soft blend, never pushed the blender hard. I cannot recommend the product unless they fix it. I'll post pictures of what happened. It appears to be a poor design.Original review:I originally received the blender and on my 3rd smoothie I guess I got a bit ambitious. I blended for about a minute and a half or 2 min and the blender started smoking a little. I stopped blending of course and took to their amazon store page asking if perhaps I had a bad unit or if I did something wrong. I hadn't checked back but a few days later received a new blender. Confused, I went and checked to see that they had responded to my inquiry and that you need to only blend in 30 second increments, mixing in between. I thought I read the manual thoroughly and don't remember that being in there and checking it now I don't see that recommendation, only that you should stop blending for at least 10 minutes if the motor stalls. So I'd highly recommend adding that to the manual for future versions of the product. That said I love the blender for the most part, the travel cups are super convenient, tops work well, its easy to clean and seems pretty durable. For the price its a solid buy.The only cons I have is that the bottle is too tall to use a straw with, I wouldn't take a star off for that though because I could have probably looked up the bottle dimensions before hand, I'm a straw person so now I have to dirty a cup. The second thing is that the blades are not quite sharp or fast enough I guess, if I add spinach or sometimes even pineapple it can be a bit grisly with bigger pieces of spinach and such still unblended.Customer service from them is superb, product is pretty great for the price, I'd gladly buy from them again and recommend them to anyone.

Just got this and was so excited! I opened the box and it is such a cute blender. My daughter and I made two smoothies. The first one went well. The second smoothie (same as the first, berries, banana and almond milk) I put some baby spinach and the motor started to smoke. I unplugged and let it rest for 15 minutes. When I blended again, the motor started to smoke again. I took the cup off and put the lid on. When I went to open the lid, the little flipper on the lid broke.... I am sending it back but for a new blender. I think this one may have been refurbished. I am disappointed, thus the one star rating. I will edit my review upon receipt of the replacement.So I ended up with returning the blender for a refund. The company was kind enough to send me a replacement free of charge so they get 5 stars for their customer service for sure!The new package was a little banged up but the items inside were fine. I tried the new blender and I stand by my original review. It's just not powerful enough to blend the kind of smoothies I like to make. I ended up getting a black and decker personal blender I am happy with. The reality is that for these prices none of these blenders are going to work like a ninja. I get that. The black and decker isn't as pretty as the ample but it works better. Ample needs to make their blender just a bit more powerful and enduring. It's such a pretty appliance but it just doesn't work to my liking. Sorry.

I absolutely love this product. I does everything it promises to do. Makes great smoothies and the clean up could not be easier. The entire idea is great. The two sports bottles come with covers and all you have to do is pour in your liquid first, (I use coconut milk and almond milk) then add whatever fruits you desire. Within 30 seconds or less you have a perfect smoothie! I make two at a time - Drink one right away and store one for lunch in the fridge. I am buying a second one for my daughter and her boyfriend who are both very busy and always on the go. I think having the second bottle is such a great time saver. It is alot easier to clean up just the one small mess than two. Clean up is so easy. I put a couple drops of dish soap in the blender with water when I'm ready to clean up, put it back on the base and let the blender clean itself. The covers I just let soak a few minutes and your done! Great price for a powerful little machine. HIghly recommended.

I like that this is a US made product, and it seems to hold up well so far. I haven't tried to blend ice or anything, so I can't say whether it's capable of that. The motor seems to have a faint smell the first couple uses, but it wears off (or I stopped noticing). What I don't like about it is how hard it is to clean the bottles. I'll probably have to invest in a special brush to clean them since the opening is too small for my regular kitchen sponges.

I don't like it, I ordered this item on June 28, 2015,,, today is August 23, 2015,,, this morning while I was going to make a smoothie, it quit working... it just won't blend any more.. and there is a burning smell coming from it.... I need to send it back and get my money back... I will say for about the first 4 weeks it worked great, then it started going south... just not blended or mixing up my smoothie... So I would tell others that it might work for you,,, but I will not buy another one... it is not worth what I paid for it....Up date-- I tried to return it, but it's older than 1 month, Amazon's return policy is items have to be returned within 1 month.... So now I'm stuck with a 2 month old broken Blender.... So I would now say don't buy this blender,, you will never know when it's going to break... you would think it should last longer than 2 months for the price... Plus this, puts a damper on my opinion of the Maker Simply Ample and Amazon..

It turns large ice cubes into ice spheres about 10mm in diameter. I'm sure I could keep running it for several more minutes to full crush the ice but this blender doesn't have the capacity, blade or power combination to "crush" ice. As for a drink mixer I think it's great.I'm giving it 4 stars but cause it doesn't exactly "crush" or "chop" ice like the description says.
