Alita: Battle Angel [Blu-ray]

I have no history with the series but it does have me quite interested and it was bold of them to take the route they did with designing the character. Regardless of any of that it is a beautifully made film and I figured it would bomb but I'm impressed with how much the film made. Even though my hope for the sequel is a small one my thing is remained crossed.

this is some top shelf stuff. hope to see more like it. the story was good. the action was awesome. the characters and cast were sweettttt!

It maybe animated some but its real to me

Great movie

I remember this coming out at the same time as the rediculous Captain Marvel and sadly it fell short. Not only was this morally superior, but it might be one of the last truely great produced movies of the 2010/2020s. Somehow I stole the 3 set collection for $8.

Se ve asombroso

It was good to see that they didn't shy away from strong language and deaths where appropriate.Unfortunately anything involving her peer group was hopelessly Disney. Her love story was ridiculous. She literally fell in love with the first boy she met, and instantly. Some of the dialogue was so cringey I pulled a muscle Jennifer Connelly was wasted. She basically had three scenes: "I'm a selfish, jaded, opportunist", "I've rediscovered my humanity through the power of love", "I'm spare parts". I'm old enough to remember Rollerball and enough other knock offs to make Motorball seem unoriginal and dated, although the events themselves were pretty exciting and showed off her abilities well. What doesn't make any sense is that she would believe that winning would ever actually get her where she wanted to go. I wish they had focused on the fact she was 'the enemy' from Mars and used that as a point of conflict instead of bad rich people on floating city. But I suppose that would not have sat well with fans of the manga, which I have not read. I would have preferred if the movie had been a melding of Blade Runner and I, Robot rather than Blade Runner and iCarly. So much of it was good, but the not-so-good kept pulling me out of the story.

je suis un fan du manga et je dois dire que j'ai visionné le film avec beaucoup de craintes. Je suis sur le cul.Même si des sacrifices ont été fait pour rendre accessible cet univers particulier d'une noirceur extrême, je dois dire que le travail est plus qu'honnête et respectueux. Alita est une réussite, franchement c'est magnifique de voir ce personnage si bien incarné. Je n'avais pas ressenti d'émotions depuis longtemps devant un film "sf". Le personnage porte totalement ce film, qui certes n' atteint pas toute la portée du manga (il vaut sans doute mieux pour espérer toucher un public plus larg. ça sonne juste, ça tape fort et c'est touchant. Du coup, qu'importe les libertés prises, le résultat est bon. Très bon même. Incroyable ce qu'ils ont réussi avec ce personnage, vraiment.Pour devenir culte il manque le petit plus que possède le manga. Mais ce petit plus est absolument impossible a exploiter sans tomber dans le film interdit au moins de...
