Bought for 2019 Tacoma. Yes, the triangular piece is a welded loop, so it cannot be pryed open. Fits great into the bolts at the top of the bed near the tailgate (M6 x 20mm stock bolts, in case you want to replace with security bolts). Holes needed to be widened to fit the bolts at the base of the bed. These are def stainless, and as such, were a royal pain to drill out larger. I needed my best bits to get through it with a hand drill. However, I might buy some more, if I can't find a similar sized one with a bigger hole. These triangular pieces are the perfect size and sit well on the side of the bed and at the base of the bed. Seem very strong.

Great tie down for my Rough Land kennel. Much cheaper than the kit they offer and just as strong. Just need to buy four 3/8 bolts and you’re ready to go!
