Moog ST8559L Strut and Coil Spring Assembly

This strut was purchased with the other three as a set and is the direct replacement for the 9C1 Police package. I installed it/them as an upgrade on an 2003 Impala LS (not the Police package) in order to take advantage of the stiffer spring rate. The installation of these complete assemblies are not difficult at all, however, be aware that if you are installing as an upgrade as I did, your suspension alignment is set up for the FE2 package (LS) and these struts are an equivalent of the FE4 package. This means they are going to need some "persuasion". Certainly not difficult, just not a drop-in installation as an upgrade. I expected the ride to be more harsh with these but it isn't. Of course I immediately noticed the firmness over my 103,xxx mile originals, but the real advantage to these over the originals is the CORNERING!!!!! WOW, the car feels like it's STUCK to the road in the turns! These are a GREAT addition to the 22mm rear sway bar and the rear strut tower brace.

Great fit and ride quality is very good however they are squeaky and creaky in cold weather.
