Body Barrier Bamboo Untox Japanese Charcoal & Shiso Oil Soap Balm, 16.9 oz

To start, the scent of this soap is so refreshing and bright. It reminds me of something I used to use as a child. The formula itself is rich and luxurious. The smallest amount foams up into a thick lather and I always let it sit on my skin around 30 seconds. Time for the nutrition benefits and fragrance to sink in and linger after the shower. I found Body Barrier and their sister company Life Lab years ago and I haven't used another body wash since. I would absolutely recommend any of their products.The packaging is very cute albeit a little inconvenient. I have tried pretty much every one of their other soaps that come in the same or similar consistency but in a traditional squeeze bottle, so I'm not sure why they chose to deviate from that. I have to move the container out of the way of where I store it in the shower to make sure I don't seal droplets in there while it's open. First world problems, but for someone with a small shower or prefers ease of use, maybe not something I would suggest.

I am obsessed with charcoal skincare products and I have to say this might be one of my favorites! With other charcoal products the smell can sometimes be off putting, but this product smells amazing! The thing that I love the most about this body wash is the smell and the fact that it doesn’t dry out my skin. It has a lovely light fresh floral scent and just a small amount gives a luxurious lather and goes a long way. The Fragrance is clean, and leaves your skin feeling so moisturized. I saw on their website that it could be used as a shave gel, and my legs have ever felt softer! Highly recommend!

This product is amazing! The shipping was incredibly fast, didn't even wait that long. Once I received the product I was happily surprised with the size, it's a pretty decent size. When I opened it, I couldn't get over the smell, very soft and warm, an aroma that I would love to leave my skin in. Once I used the product, the consistency is a smooth gel that just glided on my skin, leaving me super moisturize and soft!! Would totally recommend!!

This soap balm was unexpectedly fun. The product moves around the jar like a liquid, but when you try to scoop it up, it is like a solid. This is a neat product to impress guests and it also works really well.ScentThis soap balm has a nice light floral/fruity scent. Somewhere between lilacs and kumquats. While there is charcoal in it, the scent isn’t noticeable. What I like is that it has a light scent that doesn’t immediately vanish after the shower. You will still get gentle reminders of the scent during the day as you move around.TextureAt first I thought this jar wasn’t a practical design and wanted a pump option. Then once I used it, I realized that this wouldn’t be able to pump through a dispenser as it is more like a solid when you use it. I do like how once you grab a chuck out, the product melts back together in the jar to give a nice clean appearance.PracticalityI found it was a little bit hard to open this in the shower with wet hands and scoop some out, while also avoiding getting any water into the jar. Depending on the size of your shower, it may or may not be practical. I think a flip lid or easy open lid would be more efficient for wet hands.Does it workYes, this stuff was amazing, I felt clean afterwards and the Shiso Oil left me skin feeling lydrated and baby soft. You do have to spend a few more seconds working it into a lather to get an even spread over your body and using the right combination of product and water, but you will figure it out after a few uses.Overall, I definitely recommend this product. It is a fun addition if you are someone who likes to try new soap products.

This product is like nothing I have used before. It comes in a jar with a screw top. The product itself is similar to jello that is not quite ready to serve. On my first use, I scooped out a dollop with my fingers and promptly had half of it slide off and go straight down the drain. On my next try, I used a washcloth to scoop it out and carefully worked up a later before any of it could slide away. It has a nice, fresh scent and makes a nice, frothy lather. It definitely won't dry out your skin because it leaves quite a noticeable layer of moisture behind on your skin, even with extra rinsing efforts.Two things you should consider before deciding to try this soap. 1. The jar is really annoying. Given the liquidity of the balm, it easily could have been put in a flip top, squeeze tube. It would have been much easier to manage in the shower. 2. The soap made the floor of my shower dangerously slippery. More so than any other bath product I have ever used. It could easily result in a fall if you aren't careful. Furthermore, if you don't fully rinse off the floor when you're done with your shower, you've created a booby trap for the next unsuspecting user of the shower.So- bottom line is that I liked it but would strongly caution anyone with balance or mobility issues to proceed with extreme caution.

It does clean very well, but the goopy texture throws my wife off. It does leave your skin really clean. It doesn't dry you out. But it's this weird slimey stuff as you pull it out of the jar. I like it a lot better than I thought I would, but my wife won't use it.

Yet another type of product that I had absolutely no idea existed.Soap Balm??? Curious as to what it had to offer, I applied a small sample on my inner wrist to make sure that I did not have a reaction. With no adverse effect, I applied to my lower arms, the part that is unbelievably dry and itchy during the hot summer months. Worked up an impressive lather, waited about a minute (according to directions) then rinsed off. The balm left my arms soft and smooth with no dry skin itch.I’m not sure that I am a fan of the scent. For me, it is reminiscent of bathroom cleaning products. Fortunately, the scent does not last on the skin and I had no long-term issues with a lingering aroma. As for lasting moisturizing, I would say that you only get a couple of hours at most.Not sure if “untox” is the same as “detox”, but either way, it is hard to tell when you are using this product as a body wash. What it does do is leave your skin feeling clean and soft.
