Excellent, Very Simple & Inexpensive Little Tool For Fixing Your Leaking Fork Seals!
I don't often write product reviews, but in this case, I will make an exception!Late last Saturday afternoon I realised that both the forks on my Honda Transalp XL700VA were leaking oil, and I needed the bike for work on Monday. After Googling the problem, I came across the 'Seal Mate' on You Tube. It is a very inexpensive simple tool (a thin piece of plastic with a hooked end) that apparently clears out any grit and dirt from your fork seal which causes it to not seal, and therefore leak oil. After finding out that it would cost a lot of money, and a lot of my time to change the seals, I thought it was worth giving this tool a go first. I ordered it on Saturday afternoon, and it duly arrived on Sunday. I spent about an hour cleaning my oils seals with this little gadget, and low and behold, a load of dirt came out from each fork seal. I pumped the forks up and down, as it said in the instructions to re-seal them after, and after a few cleans, and a few more pumps, the seals no longer leaked oil. After riding the bike today, no more oil has leaked out, so I can safely say that the 'Seal Mate' has done an outstanding job, and saved me a small fortune and hours of my life! If your fork seals are leaking, I would definitely give this little tool a try. You could save yourself a load of money and time!

Wonderful
Gutted when I noticed oil over a calliper then spotted this on you tube and thought it was worth a shot - it was. Not as easy to rotate under seal as portrayed in demo vid but not exactly difficult, just a bit slower. But the bottom line is - it works! Unless all my fork oil has gone...hopefully after a 31 mile ride to work there will still be no leaks. At the minute it's looking promising. I use my bike all year so hopefully it was a bit of dirt wedged in there. It's worth paying the money giving this a try before spending your own time renewing seals or getting a mechanic to do it. Just need to ensure fork oil level is okay afterwards.

An extremely good idea!
Well it worked on the leaking fork on my GS500 saving me about £120 for a dealer to replace the fork seals. When it arrived it couldn't believe how a small thin bit of plastic could cost over £7, but I guess you are paying for the idea rather than the cost of manufacture. Its special profile allows the tool to be easily inserted between the fork and the seal. It took 3 goes to stop the leak on my bike and I could actually see small pieces of road grit working there way out as I rotated the tool around the fork. I had watched the Youtube clip beforehand so had a good idea how to proceed. The tool was not damaged at all during use and will be used again if the other side starts to leak. I would say that if you have a leaking fork it can be an MOT failure so this little gadget is worth trying before you embark on a costly and perhaps unnecessary repair.

Meh
Doesn't fix the problem only relieves the symptoms and it's not as easy to use as the instructions and videos make it seem, on my bike (varadero 125) the clearance between the oil seal and the stanchion was so tight that it was very hard to insert the tool between them, once in the tool would work its way out as I rotated it around the seal, so every fraction of movement I had to push the tool back down into the seal, the process bent and warped the tool and in the end ripped it, so it is a one use tool, and a one fork tool.

Works extremely well
I had already purchased the costly seals but dont have the expertise to fit them. I hesitated buying this first as i tried to work out if blue sealant around my seals would pass mot...Should have read this more carefully and saved 50quid.I used the item tgis morning to scrape the crud from around my seals dust and oil seals...i pumped the front end to reseal the seals about x50 original seals on a 22yr old bike are as good as new. No more leaks

Sadly didn't work for me :(
After reading several online reviews about this item, I decided to give it a try on my Ducati fork seals. Sadly for me, it didn't do the trick.Looks like I'm going to have to do it the old way of new seals and expense. If your seals are just suffering from bits of dirt that have lodged themselves in there I've no doubt this tool would do the trick.

Works surprisingly well
Works surprisingly well, it stopped a slight weep from one of my motorbikes. If you have a leaking fork seal it's worth giving one of these a try before going for a more expensive fix. I know a couple of other people that have now used the seal mate with good results.

A thin piece of plastic you can slide between fork ...
A thin piece of plastic you can slide between fork tube and seek,i fail to see how it can cure leaking seals by ensuring there is a gap between the two items?the seals still leak!!!!!
