Excellent temporary lock. Used this on a room that was being remodeled and did not want people going in it while it was under construction. Easy to use, just wrap it around the door knob and turn the key. Unlocking is just as easy. It is solid. Did the job for me.

It's a robust die-cast device, well-crafted from aluminum or some other alloy, and is grey in color, though that seems to be clearcoat over the alloy. It's good as a temporary answer to a privacy problem, or as a moderate-level security solution, designed to cover round entry doorknobs, and it does that well.The neck of some older, smaller doorknobs will be slightly exposed, but would still be difficult for most to open unless they were quite resolved to get in. The black portion in the image illustrates where the neck of a doorknob would go. It also comes with a pair of matched brass keys, and the mechanism works smoothly.The product description states: "This lockout device is often used to in apartment evictions." If that's your purpose then go for it, but there's no doubt that a strongly motivated thief couldn't bypass this with the quick blow of a hammer, shattering its housing. It that respect, very few locks or mechanisms will hold up, as any good security expert can tell you. It may not look like much but when you place it over your doorknob there is no way anyone is going to turn the knob at all no way.!!! great product!!!

The product is user-friendly, secure, and has a functional lock mechanism. It has a sturdy build quality, although it is quite heavy.

Security, weight, build quality

Perfect! I have an outdoor storage closet off of my patio that has a regular doorknob with no option to lock. Now I can put anything in there without worrying someone will take it. It simply makes it so a person can't twist a doorknob and therefore the door won't open. Very happy with this purchase. Easiest thing to install, too.

I purchased 2 of these locks for 2 doors in my home after moving my mother whom has dementia into our home. The first few days I was very happy with them. One of the doors we don’t use often and have not had to take the lock off since we put it on. The front door we use a few times a day. After having the lock for 3 days the lock started coming out and the rubber piece would keep falling off. I had been able to put the lock back in and lock it again. Now, today is a different story. The lock came out and rubber piece has come off but it won’t lock at all now. No matter what I do, the lock will not turn at all. These things cost too much to malfunction much less completely break after a week. These things had given me peace of mind at night and now I have to go out and spend more money to find another doorknob lock for my doors.

Product arrived on time. Appears well made. Very heavy. BUT no keys inside the package or inside the lock. Very disappointing.
