9 Lbs 8 oz of pull only
I would return this junk if I was not on a schedule of completion. These catches were purchased for an RV to hold cabinets closed. I though 40 Lbs would be a little much but not with these lame magnets. Once mounted, I connected a trigger pull gage (for testing gun triggers down to the gram) and found a maximum of 9 Lbs. 8 oz of pull was all these crap magnets can take to pop right open. Once again, poor and inaccurate product descriptions from Amazon sellers. Makes me wounder if the unmarked package actually is a cheaper, weaker magnet sent bait and switch.

Easy to Install - Works Like a Charm
Has a strong pull - strong enough to keep our trash-can drawer closed tightly from our dog's snooping nose and strong paws, but not too strong to keep Grandma from opening the trash bin as needed.

The final step to a new build...
My talented husband built me a knife drawer that pulls down from the bottom of one of our kitchen cupboards. It has 2 heavy magnetic strips & a dozen chefs knives & is hinged at the wall end with hinges that allow the drawer to pull down from the front. We needed a heavy duty magnetic catch to hold the knife drawer in place when it's closed. This magnetic catch is perfect, it fit perfectly & has the power to hold the drawer closed.

These are very strong door catches!
I'd agree with the ~40lb holding power. I'm not quite sure what that means, to be totally honest, as I don't think any holding power rating would actually hold what it says (at least not versus gravity/inverted, which is how I imagine it).In any case, these hold doors shut quite well, and a brief tug is necessary to open. Keep in mind the size, of course, the increased power is pretty much directly correlated with size, and so you'll need to have adequate space. Luckily, the description is very open about this, and very specific/accurate.

Great Magnetic Door Catch!
I put these on a double door closet. Unless your door is large and heavy, these 40 lb magnetic catches work great. I also purchased 60 lb magnetic catches from the same manufacturer and they work great too! Does not come with directions but is easy to install if you are handy. I much prefer these over the ball style catches.

Good strong hold.
I installed these magnetic closures on the cabinets in my horse trailer to keep doors from opening while traveling. I wanted extra strong ones since some of items in cabinets are heavy. So far they are working perfectly. I need to use both hands (40 lb. pull) to get them open so I don’t expect anything to fall out.

Excellent
Bought these for a removable acrylic door panel for a DIY enclosure for a 3D printer. Screwed the magnet piece into my extrusion bars and gorilla glued the kick plate onto acrylic panel. Only needed to use two of the 4 purchased. Though honestly with the strong magnet I probably could’ve used only one. I have to use both hands to get the door off.

Great replacement
Original magnetic catch of my outdoor gas grill used plastic housing and cracked from weather and heat. Used the Wooch catch with stainless steel housing as direct replacement. Required slight modification of mounting slots to fit the original holes of my grill. Enlarged slots using a Dremel tool and housing mounted perfectly with original screws. The Wooch catch came with stainless screws which I did not use.
