A Modern Method for Guitar - Volume 2 Paperback – May 1, 2003

A decent continuation of Volume 1, if you want to continue learning the notes and scales up the fretboard as I did. I've been on this book for a few weeks now and have learned a bunch already.There is a shortage of exercises in this book aside from ascending and descending scales. Overall, the content is a bit dry. It's tough to stay motivated.The book quickly moves up the fretboard with major scales, but exercises in the different positions (besides V) are sparse. It would have been better to thoroughly cover C up and down the fretboard with exercises before moving on to the rest of the scales.The way it's presented, It feels like a boring trudge ascending and descending the fretboard so it's tough to stay motivated.The print feels a little small in places, but I felt that way about the first volume as well. I wish they'd decrease the margin size and increase the size of the staff/notes. The fidelity of the print isn't so great on some of the pages.Before I started volume 1 I couldn't read music at all, and I only knew a handful of notes on the fretboard and some basic scales. Now I can read decently and I know the notes up to and beyond the 12th fret.Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of the jazz guitar style, but I do think this series is excellent for learning guitar, as long as you're willing and motivated, and practice often, and move through the material without perfecting every page. Moving through the material the best you can, then backtracking is the best way to learn this stuff.

I wish I'd picked this up when I was (much) younger. It would've helped me develop more formal skills and given me a better shot at mastering the instrument. I found the book to be, informationally-speaking, very dense. Sometimes there are several days' worth of intense study opportunity on a single page. If you can internalize the material in this book, you should be able to play a lot of music on the guitar. It should help your reading too.

there are some small mistakes here and there, when completing this whole book, and its hard to interpret some of the instructions. A good practice is to make bookmarks for all the chords, I actually ended up scanning them so i could put them all on to one page. but for advance practice this is a very good series, im waiting to start the 3rd book, but i may never get to it since there is some much to learn then just to learn to play and read.

Bought this book as a gift for my husband and he says: This is the 2nd Volume in what is probably the best guitar method ever published by Berklee Press. The focus of the book is to teach the student to read music however, I recommend it to anyone that is interested in learning to play guitar.

Just use this book if you are use to read music and completed the first one.

Good book, but the printing is a little fuzzy. It's like not having the right glasses on.

Nothing more to say. Great for any modern guitarist who wants to be an educated, modern guitarist. Knowledge will expand your capability no matter who you are or what you play.

O método é excelente, não há dúvida. A apresentação do ebook está diferente do padrão, com tipo muito pequeno. Requer ajuste sempre que for aberto para leitura. Esse problema já foi apontado por outro usuário mas, até o momento, ainda permanece. Lamentável !

The font and print size is what too small. Can it be increased

amazonから新品が出ていないようですが、vol.1がとても良かったので中古で購入しました（そんなに高くなかったのもありました）。vol.1はローポジション（１～６フレット）あたりまでを何種類かの調で重点的に訓練しますが、この本はいきなりハイポジション（１２～１５フレット）あたりまで、ネックを横断していくエクササイズから始まります。vol.1からちょっと飛躍している所はあると思いますが、vol.1同様取組みがいのある１冊だと思います。

O conteúdo em si é excelente, no entanto o livro foi pessimamente digitalizado. Está em preto e branco, escala da fonte pequena em relação a tela e o pior, falha na nitidez do conteúdo. Vejam as fotos tirem as conclusões. Este problema se estende pelo livro inteiro.
