Works as well as stock Koaloha and Ping tuners. I suspect as well as any un-geared.
I have tried the 1-2 dollar sets available here and elsewhere, and the 2-3 dollar sets. The 1-2 dollars actually were better than the 2-3 dollar sets that have the extra toothed pieces, but these are far superior. I put them on a plastic Woodi uke I use for the beach, and find them easier to tune than the cheap gear sets they come with. Also, I think a soprano just looks better with friction pegs. They weigh maybe twice what the cheaper ones weigh, but are so smooth. I got another set elsewhere a bit less, the pictures showed a few differences, I was hoping to compare them, but they were the same. There are a few areas the external polish of the metal wasn't great, but who sees it? Came assembled in wrong order. do a bit of looking and thinking. Great for the bucks.
